Description

The Black & Decker BDCDMT1206KITC Matrix 6 Tool Combo Kit is powered by a 20-volt MAX motor which provides enough power for a full range of applications and attachments. The 20v Lithium Ion Battery - always ready, and holds a charge up to 18 months. The Matrix Quick Connect System allows quick and easy change of a variety of attachments which include a Drill-Driver, Sander, Jig Saw, Oscillating, and Impact attachments. The impact driver attachment delivers high performance output without kick back, along with a variable speed feature that allows for precision performance that is right for each job. The sanding attachment is a versatile product that can be used for finish sanding, rust removal, dry scrubbing, polishing, and detail sanding. This is my second Black & Decker Matrix drill set. I have been using the Matrix system for more than a year now and love it. So when I needed a second drill for a weekend home, I didn't hesitate to pick up another Matrix set. The system itself works great for DIY projects. The attachments are easily connected and swapped out as needed. The base unit fits well in your hand and is not so heavy that you tire when having to hold it for long periods of time. I like the variety of attachments in this particular set and others, like a trim saw, are available if you want to add to the system. The 20v battery holds a charge for a long time between uses and is easily swapped out if you pick up a spare for longer working times on a project. The Matrix system is especially nice in homes where space is at a premium - you get a wide selection of tools without having to store full size versions of each tool. The case is ok - there is a designated space for each tool carved out of the interior plastic lining and there are separate owners manual for each item. There isn't any room to store additional tools so plan to pick up a tool bag if you like to carry additional items along with your drill. This is an exceptional set for DIYers and a great way to have tools like a router or jigsaw on hand without having to buy and store full size versions of each tool. The Matrix system by Black & Decker is excellent and worth checking out "a la carte" if this particular set does not have the tools that you need. ... show more

Style: 6-Tool Combo Kit
The MATRIX is the best investment I've ever made in my power tool collection. As someone who has owned various power drill/drivers and impact drill/drivers over the years, this kit has completely changed the game. What truly sets this combo kit apart is the sheer convenience of having everything easily swappable within a single tool. The MATRIX system is a game changer. No more rummaging through a cluttered toolbox to find the right tool for the job. With this kit, you have it all in one place. I love the case for that. Not sure what to do when I get additional attachments but I'll cross that bridge when it's time. I have to admit that I haven't had the opportunity to test every attachment thoroughly, but so far, I've used the drill/driver, impact, and jigsaw attachments, and they've all been remarkably easy to use and incredibly effective. The drill/driver powers through various tasks, from simple household projects to more complex DIY endeavours, with precision and ease. The impact driver delivers the force needed for those tougher jobs, while the jigsaw attachment has proved to be a reliable addition to my toolkit. The power and performance of the tools in this kit are outstanding. They provide a seamless transition between tasks, thanks to the quick and hassle-free attachment changes.     • Nice system for smaller work
Style: 6-Tool Combo Kit
I really like the system and how everything is compact. This is perfect for the hobbyist or DIY type looking to do smaller jobs. I was able to bust out the system and tackle last minute small jobs around the house within minutes. The kit doesn't come with a router bit and accepts 1/4" shank bits up to 1-3/8" diameter cutting while spinning at about 9000 rpm (Think palm router). The Oscillating tool has a sanding pad as well as a straight cutting tool for wood/metal. Additional cutting accessories can be purchased from a variety of sources. The battery will need to be upgraded to a 4.0Ah or have additional batteries on standby if using oscillating & jig saws and the router attachment heads, as you'll go through the stock battery quick. The kit comes with a jig saw blade, which again would need to be upgraded. I'm at a loss as to why they have included a sanding pad and then have an additional sanding option for the oscillating tool. I can see this as a post kit option as most oscillating tool kits have sanding pads. I'd like to have another cutting blade for the oscillating tool. A bit for the router or two would've been great as well. Just something to get up and going. YouTube users state that the other versions of the heads are interchangeable but batteries pull different mAh. I can't attest to this comparability. I do like on the base how the bit can attach to it! That is a nice touch as my "D" set had to have an additional accessory attached to do this. There's a spot on the case where the manuals and accessories go, which can hold smaller additional accessories such as bits, another battery, blades etc. I do like how each head comes with a manual as they're sold separate, however, It'd be nice if it was all in one. I can easily see loosing one or two of these over time. The case is good but not water proof. I wasn't expecting it to be, but a future upgrade if B&D wanted to would be a larger water proof case to have space for all heads (including the reciprocating and circle saw heads, large accessory area and maybe even a secondary base? I'd gladly pay for it! They have a bag to the kit which is what I have in addition to the case. One last thing...They do have a AC powered base body, making this kit one of my favorite! Update 11/5/18 I have used this kit for more projects around the home and it has held up quite well. One thing to note, multi tool attachment is still a bit cumbersome and no speed control. It can burn wood if not careful. All attachments work and allow for some quick changes between say a circular saw to trim router, or drill to impact. I have a spare impact and driver head which I use to speed up a project. Everything fits in a single bag/ 28” box making it fairly portable. This system has paid for itself 4 times over so far and I’d be lost without it. ... show more
