First, if you are one of the coffee maker searchers who want an alarm when its done making the coffee move on. Why you would need an alarm to let you know it's ready is beyond me. If I make coffee, I want it now and I'm hanging out waiting for it. Actually, every coffee maker I've ever owned has a built in alarm as it loudly sputters when done to get all the water through the machine. That said, this makes greats coffee, the count-down timer on the machine lets you know how many minutes are left until it automatically turns off the heating plate. Easy to set the time and use. Water in the back and coffee in the the front and it uses normal sized round filters. I have always used a mesh plastic and metal round filter in my makers as I find it easier to clean and mine fit perfectly. Very solid construction. My only issue is you need to try and not pour the coffee to your cup to quickly because it can start to pour back along the lip and make a mess. Take your time and its fine. ... show more

Nice for my morning coffee! All but a couple little thing... The temp is only reaching 171° when my last coffee pot was hitting 190°. Means my drinking coffee nice and slow and still being super hot will change a little. Also the back where you put the water isn't very wide at all. So I've got to be careful putting the water in it cause it will hit the center plastic and slosh water everywhere. But other than that it's a great coffee pot so far. ... show more

Really like this coffee machine with two small caveats - the “shower head” distribution over the filter can sometimes result in the filter folding over and grinds in the coffee so I have to be diligent when setting things up to brew. Also wish I could set it to keep warm for more than 2 hours but that’s just cuz I like drinking coffee well into the afternoon ... show more

I had a small Black & Decker coffee maker that has served me well for about 10 years so when I wanted to get a full size coffee maker I wanted to get another Black & Decker. I killed the previous coffee brewer, this was a good choice. + Be advised: when you open the top, it reaches 23 inches from the counter top... do you have enough room? Be advised: when you measure the vinegar & water to clean the brewer, use 5 ounce cups, not 8 ounce cups when you measure (it's in the manual); otherwise you will overflow the capacity of the reservoir tank. Be advised: If you turn it off and back on, you should have at least 2 cups of water in the reservoir tank or you can burn up the heating element (Yes Dear, it's also in the manual). Be advised: when the coffee is finished brewing, the clock turns into a count down timer by the minute. Be advised: the front panel programing buttons can be difficult to read; the print is small and it helps to shine a bright light on them when you are setting up your new friend in the kitchen... ... show more
