Our Jack Russell was recently sick and usually doesn't pee in his crate. On the rare occasion that he does he aims to go outside the crate so it isn't in his crate. It ended up on the carpet near the wall and it stunk. I bought this for my Bissell Big Green Machine carpet cleaner hoping it would work. I used the hand tool to get close to the base board and then used the machine over that. While it was drying you could smell the Febreze but could also kind of smell the urine smell. Now that it has totally dried you can't smell the urine at all. If you get down close to the carpet you can smell a very small amount of odor but it isn't bad. I am going to hit the carpet one more time with this cleaner and that should take care of any lingering odor. It also cleans the carpet really well. I was going to have someone come in and professional clean the carpet if this didn't work and am happy to say it DID work! ... show more

This product works well. Be realistic though. If you have carpet that hasn’t been cleaned in quite a while, this is not a miracle product (nor is any product). You’ll need to clean it more than once. In the end, the fibers are softer and feel so much better. The reason I gave it 4 starts is because the of the price point. Not only did this stuff smell good, my carpets look new! It will not completely remove old set in stains but I used Rocco & Roxie which cleared them completely. I sprayed the R&R and set a towel over the stain and then set heavy items on the towel and let it sit for 90 minutes. Anyway, back to the Bissell, I’ll never use anything else to clean my carpets. So we use this carpet cleaning solution in a small portable unit for touch up in between annual pro cleanings. The product works well enough to actually miss the annual cleanings, ...depending on the level of pet and/or people mess! With pet staining kept to a minimum, we can go a couple years rather than every year! Long story short, this product can and will save you money if you are willing to work with it in your carpet machine, and, with a bit of push pull you can keep the pro cleaning money and go to dinner! ... show more
