  • Great!
Are you looking for a great deal on a vacuum cleaner? Well, here ya' go! I purchased one of these approximately 2 years ago and another one for my summer house last week. So I can speak to its power out of the box as well as the product's longevity. 1. The suction is amazing! I am so happy with this aspect. And it lasts. The suction, even after two years, is still strong. 2. It has a lot of bells and whistles for this low price. Specifically, I like the multitude of attachments. There are attachments for scrubbing, getting into high places (ie ceilings), and getting into corners (I use this mostly for carpeted stairs). 3. I like the different levels for the length of carpet. There are settings ranging from bare floors to high shag carpet. If you play around with this you'll notice that going over medium level carpet with the bare floor setting works like a charm! 4. The simplicity of cleaning - I have come to loathe those expensive machines that claim to take 97% of the "dander" and "allergens" from the floor. Well, 97% is barely anything. My air filters take 99.7%-99.9% of the dander/allergens out. So get this vacuum cleaner and a $100 Honeywell - you'll save $400 overall and not have to worry about constantly changing the filter. Back to cleaning...you just unattach the plastic box, walk it outside, and place everything into the garbage in one fell swoop. So easy! Why mess around with ridiculous contraptions? This is so easy! 5. On to the filter...There is a cleanable filter in this vacuum. I wash it approximately 1x every 6 months of fairly heavy use. It holds up well! And when I did need to replace it I only spent $2. None of these $25 filters to buy for this unit. 6. The cord is LONG. My summer house is a two-story 3/2 1,850 square feet home. I can get 90% of the house without needing to change the outlet. I only miss the far side of the Master Bedroom and the Kitchen (which doesn't have carpet anyway). Overall, there are only three minor flaws. First, the the cord may be long but it lacks the ability to contract with a button. Not a big deal, but can be annoying. Secondly, long hair can be difficult. The hair gets stuck in some parts of the machine. I at times need to cut the hair out because it gets so tangled. Finally, my wife uses pins for her hair. These black pins seem to be all over the carpet. After hitting 10+ of these metal pins I did notice the machine made a weird noise. The 2 year-old machine still sounds perfectly, but after using the new one for only a few days there is a slightly odd noise that lasts 1/2 second when the machine turns off. I believe all the metal the machine hit slightly altered the way two pieces hit each other when the machine is turning off. Still works perfectly, but don't go over a bunch of pieces of metal with the machine (duh!). ... show more

  • 2 Dogs and 2 cats, no problem!
We have two dogs and two cats so our carpets and rugs are always covered in hair! We've had this vacuum for a little over a month now and have absolutely no regrets. We vacuum every other day and it hasn't lost any suction from what we can tell at all. This might be because it doesn't have a normal fabric/paper filter as in normal vacuum. So this might not be throwing as clean air back into our rooms but it has been cleaning our carpets better than any comparably priced vacuums we have purchased in the past. The air quality isn't as important to us because we have the Bio-Shield UV-C Air Sanitizer System that I installed recently. We also haven't noticed a difference in the amount we've had to dust either. So far I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone that has pets. If I had to say one con it would be that I have to empty it so often, but we have a 2400sq ft house will carpet everywhere but the kitchen and bathrooms (at least twice in every room). I think thats because of the large amount of shedding that takes place! :) One last thing is that a lot of the negative reviews says that this is very loud and the the extendable hose is to short. This vacuum is by far the quietest I've ever owned. We can vacuum in the same room that our 6 week old daughter is sleeping in (maybe we got lucky and have a heavy sleeper?) As for the hose its not hard to use the attachment and just have your other hand holding the handle on the vacuum so it doesn't fall or hit you...... As for how long this vacuum last with the supposed belt issues in other reviews I do not know but for 80 bucks its working really good right now. Hope this helps anyone debating on buying this product, Go for it! Update 3/30/15 This vacuum is still going strong! We've had zero issues with the belt as other people have reported. The handheld attachment is hit or miss cause with the amount of fur we get off of furniture it tends to cause it to jam cause it gets in around the moving parts (a quick one screw removal and clean around the little belt and fixed though) I've cleaned out the little sponge filter this machine has a couple times since we bought it and thats it. No loss of suction otherwise. We still have two cats and two dogs, so there's still plenty of fur that this machine gets everyday. We are actually purchasing a second one to keep in our basement instead of carrying the one between the floors. Update 9/7/15 Still no real issues (other than having to empty it multiple times when cleaning!). I don't understand how any of my cats or dogs even have fur at this point with how much it picks up every day when we vacuum. Kinda gross lol but its doing a good job still. I mean for 80 bucks I cannot complain at all with how much fur has gone through this thing with no issues yet. As long as you maintain the machine.... which means clean out the housing. I.E take out the filter and the cyclone part of the canister and clean it outside every couple months the motor will not overheat. General cleaning maintenance, I believe, have made this last longer for me than all the other negative reviews about over heating. I mean have some common sense, maintain what you buy and it will last. I don't understand how people can expect something to be inexpensive and last forever without maintenance. ... show more
