After one use the pen tip slipped backwards into the pen's body rendering the pen useless. I was not rough with it, I was just marking a little spot on metal that needed a touch-up. Might as well light a ten dollar bill on fire and use the soot to touch-up the metal. This was my second try with this pen, the first one arrived totally dried out, so I'm 0/2 with Birchwood touch-up pens... I will not be trying my luck a third time! ... show more

    • Short Shelf Life as Dispenser Dries Up Over Time
While the product does help to conceal some blemishes on metal the dispenser part of the pen dries up over time to the point where the tip cannot get any paint flow. So the shelf life on this product is very short.

There were a couple of areas on the inside of the slide on one of my handguns that were scratched up and carrying some brass coloration. The original damages were caused by extraction and ejection failures. Once that problem was solved the scratches and discoloration always bothered me.
