56-year old female here. My usually normal skin gets so dry and itchy in the winter that I just want to crawl out of it. I’ve tried so many products that have given me no lasting relief. So I started down the YouTube rabbit hole in search of something new when I stumbled on “Speed Beauty by Caroline Barnes” who recommended this product. I was intrigued simply by the fact that this was a French pharmacy staple and I had never been to France, so I figured why not try something from another country. I wasn’t hopeful as I had tried other oil-based body cleansers that seemed okay but stunk to high heaven (either too perfumed or with a fish oil type smell — no thanks). But THIS CHANGED MY SKIN. I finally feel like my search has ended. This has become my holy grail product and I can see myself using it year round. Pros: Huge bottle with a great pump No scent Good consistency - not too thick nor too thin Small amount of suds (heavy suds will dry you out, people!) Won’t leave film or an oil slick on your tub floor Won’t leave film or an oil slick on your skin Can use it to wash your face, too Rinses off cleanly Super gentle - perfect for sensitive skin Can be used by everyone in your household - women, men, kids, babies (I have not tried it on my dog) Can even be used as a hand wash Cons: None that I can think of — I LOVE THIS STUFF! Interesting product. I originally got this thinking it would be a less expensive option of another product that one of my favorite YouTubers raved about. The container itself claims to be a mild cleanser but it did not feel like it cleansed my skin at all. So I thought I would use it to shave with, and that worked ok but I started to feel like it was a pointless extra product because its not like I could skip lotion after my shower. Why not just use by regular body wash? Also, I did feel like my tub was a tiny bit slick whenever I used it. Then it occurred to me that this may work as a oil cleanser to remove makeup. I have long been a double cleanse kind of person- oil to remove makeup (Dermalogica Precleanse, Hado Labo cleansing oil, even coconut oil), then use my facial cleanser. This stuff works great for that purpose. It is a thicker consistency than Precleanse or the Hado Labo but it dissolves all my makeup in the blink of an eye. Even my usual 2 coats of waterproof mascara, gon in about 1.5 pumps of this stuff. I am super pleased with it for that purpose, and what a fantastic price. After trying numerous products in my 50 years of searching for products that resolve dry, itchy , flaky skin in the winter months., I can say YIPPEE! On a whim I ordered this, the shower creme and the nourishing balm. Immediately I could feel the difference in my skin. This shower oil is awesome. First off, I am one of those people who can not tolerate very many perfumed products. This has a light, clean smell that does not bother me at all. Second, I was worried that it would be a slick, greasy mess in my shower, but it is not. Don't ask me how it can be so wonderful on your skin and not greasy in the tub, but it isn't. It rinses right off your body and down the drain. I have used these three products for over a month"s time, during the dry cold month of December and I can tell you that I have not had any itching or flaking of my calves. Usually by this time of the year it is a disgusting mess when I take off my socks, but alas my skin looks lovey! I have common Ichthyosis which is a skin disorder causing dry, scaly skin. Choose an appropriate soap or similar is just a non pleasant adventure. But life will go on so I am taking swimming classes. I love swimming. I just started using Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil for a week and the results are just amazing. I have never experienced the softness and relief this product give to my skin. I even use it in my face. The smell is soft and relaxing. I also use Atoderm cream so the results are even better. Honestly, the product smells and feels great. The smell is soft, and I cannot smell it on my skin hours later...so it’s very subtle. I wish, though, that I could smell it! My skin has been the driest ever this winter. After only one night, my skin already feels so much softer and more moisturized. I can imagine that a few weeks in to using this will make a huge difference! Definitely for you if you are dealing with itchy, flaky, dry winter skin. ... show more

UPDATE: it’s been three months since I started using this body cleansing oil & I LOVE IT. My dry skin is improving. Itching has stopped. I will continue to buy this. I’ve been using this cleansing body oil for three weeks or so & I LOVE IT. It doesn’t dry my skin out ever. I feel very moisturized after my shower. I have extremely dry skin & eczema. I tried all the so called mild body washes. None of them helped my skin. THIS ONE REALLY HELPS MY VERY DRY SKIN. It comes in a. If pump bottle - which I love. I have arthritic hands & pump bottles are the easiest for me to use. I feel clean & refreshed after my shower. There is very little lather, if any, but that is GOOD FOR YOUR SKIN. The scent is very subtle. It’s a good value In this big pump bottle. I ordered it on Subscribe & Save. Saves me time & money. A great product.
