What I like: Longer barrel for hair 3 inches below shoulder Swivel cord Heats up quick No line from the clip handle I ordered this 1 in barrel curling iron because my hairdresser said it's one of the best out there.; no damaging to colored hair, multiple heat settings. Other Pros- Easy to use, and leaves my hair soft- no frizzles. I only need to keep it in my hair for a few seconds to set, so less exposure to heat. Cons- (if you can call it that) I have extremely fine hair, so it curls well but relaxes through the day. Solution: I ordered the .75 inch instead of the 1 inch and it works perfectly! My curls hold throughout the day and often last through brushing the next morning. (Curls will relax each time I brush but have stayed for up to 3 or 4 days, which is a big deal for such fine hair.) I also use Moroccan Oil, dry texture spray for hold. ... show more

After 20 years of trying different curling irons, I can confidently say this one is the best! What really sets it apart is the extra-long barrel—it's a game-changer. I’ve never had a curling iron with a barrel this long, and it makes such a difference. It’s perfect for my long hair, allowing me to curl larger sections at once, which saves so much time and gives me consistent curls. Another huge plus is the high temperature it reaches. It heats up quickly and delivers the kind of hold I’ve always wanted, but it doesn’t leave my hair dry or damaged. I’ve used other irons that would leave my hair feeling brittle, but this one is much gentler while still delivering long-lasting curls. I’m so happy I invested in this curling and the price point is great!! It works so much better than any curling iron I’ve used in the past, and the extra-long barrel was exactly what I was missing. I really didn't want to love this curling iron. For the price, I knew it would be an easy one to return if was only mildly better than my beloved Hot Tools curling iron -- but its so much better. I'll never return this one now that I've used it. I rely heavily on reviews for some big purchases so I knew I was in good company. For some history - I curl my long hair between 3-4 times a week. I don't need extremely high heat, but I need consistent heat just to handle the length of hair I have. My hair stylist used this exact same curling iron on me the last time I went in and I was blown away at how my hair curled, stayed curled for 2 days, and did NOT feel fried in the slightest even after my color. #1 - this heated up in like 2minutes, which helps to keep my bathroom counter clear of burning hot implements while I'm still getting makeup on or blow drying. love this feature. #2 - I didn't initially see the 'lock' feature for the heat setting and kept moving the heat up and down with my fingers as I was curling -- of course when I actually READ the label on the side of the tool, it told me exactly how to do that and it's a good feature for me. It also ensures consistent temps throughout the whole process without mistakes -- too hot can be a costly error, and not hot enough just prolongs everything. #3 - Not sure what kind of witchery is involved here, but my hair is actually SOFTER than when I just blow dried it (I have a dyson hair dryer, which already helps with that). It feels and looks healthier. #4 - and this is my last one because it's a cool feature - not even something I was expecting - this curling barrel is an inch or two longer than standard ones. I can curl more of my long hair faster and I simply can't go back to a 'short' barrel anymore. This review photo took me 6.5minutes to do while in my office during my lunch hour. Call it 7minutes ladies with floofing and a spritz of hair spray (I use Aveda) - but its still not a long time at all. GAME CHANGER if you're like me and already running late. Trust me, for the price, I didn't want to love it -- but I do. It's staying with me for as long as it can. I have had a few curling irons over the years with different technologies, and this Bioionic is by far the best! I have thick hair and normally use the highest heat temperature available, but don’t need the highest heat with this curling iron. It heats quickly and is so easy to use. My hair is softer than before using it. Also my curls hold much longer than before. I posted photos to share that after two days, I still had a very decent curl! This curling iron is a good quality item that works well! I also appreciate how durable it is and has an auto shut off feature. ... show more
