  • Very sharp well packaged
I love that this came with extra screws and the tool for tightening everything down. Well packaged. Pictures still show the plastic coati g over the head but once opened and used product was extremely sharp and cut smooth

  • Great workhorse for slab flattening.
The media could not be loaded. This router bit worked superbly for flattening the slab in the photos. There is a video of the router bit being put through it's paces and the next photo shows the results. I really like this router bit because it has four cutting edges and they are at two different angles that gives a great cut. I used this on a 3 HP spindle and I probably could have taken even deeper cuts than I did in this case. In case you are wondering, the video shows that I need to do a little tramming work on my spindle! ... show more

  • Works great clean cuts
The media could not be loaded. Nice bit. Tested on my spoil board and gave a good clean cut on mdf. I like that the blades can be turned or replaced. Overall good value for money

  • Great for flattening what the hand plane and planer can’t
I’ve flattened many a chainsawn slab in my time. Effortful as it is, my preferred method is to begin with a scrub plane and progress as quickly as possible to the longer, usually low angle hand planes which off the greatest span of registration to the wood surface. As you get closer to flat, the hand plane can achieve the cleanest of cuts on straight grained wood, but can cause increased tear out in these spots where there is twisted grain or patches of endgrain. That is where this cutter, mounted in a router fixed to a large base or on a carriage on rails comes in. One can clean up these twisted areas, taking them ever so slightly below the leveled surface, then going back to the hand plane to bring the entire surface to level. A lot of steps, Yes. A lot of physical effort. Absolutely. But when you see the finished level surface of some multi thousand dollar slab of exotic hardwood like cocobolo, the time, effort and $57 cost of this cutter are all worth it. ... show more

  • Little overpriced like many others
I usually do most of my machining in metal using 6061, 7075 or 4140 steel. Recently had a project that needed some wood sheets that were a thickness I cannot regularly find for a price that isn't beyond reasonable so I pick this up to save many times what the tool itself costs. So far it has worked well(no surprise since it's carbide vs wood) but I cannot help but think the price is a little high for what you get. For a little more I could buy a nickel plated 3" R8 face mill with 5 inserts which is quite a bit more impressive of a tool. ... show more

  • Heavy Duty
This is one heavy duty bit. It has replaceable blades so when you wear the blades out you only have to replace the blades not the whole bit. It come with a tool and screws to replace the blades with. I think there is a learning curve with this bit, but I think it should work fine. I am glad I have this in my collection of bits for all my projects. Jobs are much easier when you have the right tools. ... show more
