Most antenna adapters are jumpers that are 4 to 6 in long and you have to stuff this length behind the dash. This one allows you to plug in your factory antenna lead almost directly into your new radio without this excess length. Should fit almost all applications unless the new radio antenna input is significantly further from the attenna lead connector, than the original radio was. Works great 👍 ... show more

You will need this if you're installing an after-market head in a VW newer than 2005. The VW plugs for the antennae and SAT radio are not compatible with most radios out there.
