Got these to replace some ODI rogue grips that have gotten pretty mushy. I don't do much to require it any more, but I was disappointed these only have a lock ring on one end. So probably not great for intense riding. But other than that, they seem comfy and grippy and it was nice of them to include the allen wrench and end caps. ... show more

This is the first pair of lock-on bicycle grips I've tried. These look and feel very well made and like good quality grips. They have enough padding for me.. I don't like grips that are too soft or thick. The hardware all seems like good quality as well. There was a shaving of metal sticking out of the threaded part on one of the clamps that I snagged my finger on, but came off once I ran the hex screw through it. Anyway, I'm not sure if I just don't know what I'm doing with these, or if I just happen to have the wrong sized bars on my bikes, but I couldn't get these to go on completely on any I tried. I understand that it could be something I'm doing wrong, but with no instructions/diagrams included, I'm just looking at photos online and guessing. I've noticed that some lock-on grips are installed with the locking ring toward the stem, while others have them installed with the locking ring toward the outer end of the bar. I also noticed that some come with lock rings on both ends. I don't know which way is right or wrong, or if they are made to work either way, but I couldn't get it to slide fully onto my bars either way. At one point, I tapped on the grips and was able to get them to slide on until there was just about 1/2" from the end of the grip to the end of my bar. I tightened the lock ring with it in that spot, but it didn't hold the bar very well and I could slide it off still. I don't feel very confident riding anything serious in that situation. I also couldn't get the plastic wedge piece on the end cap to fit inside any of my bars further than about 1/3 of the way. I tried pinching it as much as I could, but no deal. If I had only tried all this on one set of handlebars, I'd probably just chalk it up to having the wrong size bars.. but I tried 3 different ones. Anyway, I'm fully aware that maybe it's just my inexperience with these types of grips and that there are folks that have had success with these. But it is a little frustrating that there are no instructions/directions included or at least some sort of diagram showing the correct way to install these so folks like me trying these types of grips for the first time at least have a little bit of an idea of what to do. ... show more

These foam grips are softer and more comfortable to grip than the regular platic/rubber grips. I do mountain biking and it helps to have these softer grips to also absorb the vibration from rough terrain. I like that these grips have a clamp extended beyond the grip area. So the grip is just a tad longer than the regular grips and this gives the full grip area as before. I had gotten another grip before that had the grip clamp on both sides of the grip and also had the clamps within the normal grip area, so that grip felt smaller than usual as the claps eat into your grip area. I returned that one for this one. This one resolved that issue. Since the foam should also be able to aborb a little bit of sweat, I feel that it's less slippery also, so it's all good. ... show more

These have been a nice upgrade from the stock handlebar grips that came with my wife's mountain bike. They went on with ease after we were able to get the old ones off and tightened down with a simple bolt adjustment. They provide a solid but nice grip while riding and even when wet, there is no fear of loosing your grip of the bike. Would recommend these for anyone looking for a quality upgrade from some stock grips. ... show more
