Features

  • Musa is the perfect combination of tradition and innovation: the original induction coffee maker that prepares a perfect coffee, with a Made in Italy taste from a unique design pot for a refined coffee break.
  • Bialetti Musa is made in 18/10 stainless steel of the highest quality to guarantee long-lasting durability and an unmistakable style.
  • How to use Bialetti Musa: fill the boiler up to the safety valve with water, insert the funnel tank and add the ground coffee for moka without pressing; close the moka firmly and place it on the hob. Wait for coffee to gurgle as it rises to the collector (upper chamber), turn off the gas and, finally, enjoy your delicious coffee!
  • A size for every need: Bialetti Musa sizes are measured in espresso cups; coffee can be enjoyed in espresso cups or larger cups, according to your needs.
  • Cleaning instructions: Bialetti Musa should be cleaned with water only, after use. Do not use detergents. The product should not be washed in the dishwasher as this could cause damage to the product and affect the taste of the coffee.

Description

For those preferring a smoother coffee taste, the Bialetti 4-Cup Musa combines beauty and elegance in a tastefully designed stovetop espresso maker. Bialetti's legacy of quality and reliability lives on in this coffee maker crafted in high-quality 18/10 stainless steel (including the inner parts such as funnel & filter plate) with ergonomic, heat-resistant handle and lid. Produces 4 cups of rich, authentic Italian espresso in just 4-5 minutes. Note that max boiler capacity is slightly greater than the final output. Some water will be left in the boiler after brewing. The Musa is compatible with all stovetops, including induction cooktops. Stainless steel espresso pots are not dishwasher safe, hand wash only. Never use other contents besides coffee like teas, cacao powder, instant coffee or fine ground coffee as it will clog the filter plate. To use; fill the lower chamber with cold water just below the valve. Insert the funnel and fill it with ground espresso (do not tamp). Remove any coffee grounds on the edge of the funnel. Tightly screw the upper part of the pot on the base. Avoid using the handle for leverage. Select burner size to fit the bottom of pot. For gas stovetop, make sure the flame is not larger than bottom of pot. The flame should not come around the sides of the pot. Place pot on the stovetop until the water boils and coffee begins to come out of the center post. There will be a gurgling sound during this process. When the top of the pot is full of coffee, remove from stove. Hazel brown foam appears just seconds before the coffee is completely done. Before pouring coffee, stir it in the upper chamber with a small spoon to equalize all the different coffee layers for optimum flavor. Bialetti is the world's most recognized and beloved Italian coffee company. Bialetti coffee makers have become iconic and has allowed millions of consumers to enjoy great Italian coffee that once was only available in cafes and restaurants. Bialetti's passion remains in making superb coffee simple.

  • Better than the aluminum model
Size: 4-Cup
I've used the Bialetti aluminum moka pots for years but lost interest when I got an aeropress which is more convenient to clean. I missed the moka pot for fine espresso grind sometimes so I got a stainless steel one to see how it works. It's way better than aluminum. It's super easy to clean compared to the aluminum. Steel rinses off more easily. And steel heats up slower than aluminum and doesn't get super hot enough to burn the coffee inside. That's a common complaint of the aluminum pots which get too hot too quickly. I use room temperature water, espresso ground or moka ground coffee, an aeropress paper filter in front of the metal filter, and high temp on my electric stove to get perfectly brewed coffee. This method gives me the best qualities of moka pot and aeropress coffee. I think it tastes better than aluminum. Musa has plastic stay cool handle on the lid, while Venus has a metal handle. 4 cups means small shot glass sized cups. ... show more

  • Just what we wanted!
Size: 10
While in Italy, we started using a small aluminum version of these every morning so that we had a full cup of coffee, rather than the little espresso cups you get at bakeries. It took four pots, two for each of us. So we decided to look for a stainless and larger version when we got home. It’s great, my husband has become a real pro. I was concerned about which coffees to use, but we experimented and know what works for us. These use a lot more coffee than an electric coffee maker, but the result is so much better! I think it helps to start with a YouTube video how-to, then customize to your taste. I’ve seen several reviews that say you shouldn’t clean these. Ugh. I guess if you want the taste of old grounds and don’t mind your pot getting grimy, you can, but we prefer clean. And the coffee is great. It’s all a matter of tastes. This is perfect for us. We just pre-boil the water in an electric pot, and set the bottom on a potholder so it can be safely screwed together with the water and the coffee basket. We also got a new coffee bean grinder so we get the grind correct for this unit, which is a little more coarse than what we used in Italy. That’s it. Enjoy! ... show more

  • Maybe
Size: 4-Cup
The media could not be loaded. Looking for an all stainless steel moka pot-- maybe this one? Used a very strong magnet and it appears that the bottom chamber and the funnel are. The top chamber magnetic attraction wasn't as strong-- faint but somewhat there, so not sure of the material. I ordered and returned a different brand moka pot because the top chamber and funnel appeared to be aluminum based on the same tests & more apparent appearance (compared to my old aluminum moka pot). Just opened this Bialetti Musa 10 minutes ago (haven't used it yet), and it appeared to have some defects on the top chamber 2 brown gaps/markings at the bottom and a marking on the tube. Ordered an exchange but that one also had markings. I seasoned the first one and the markings are there to stay. Aside from this, quality seems good by comparison to other brands. Built to last. It is prone to fingerprints and water marks. Have been cleaning it with filtered water only. ... show more

  • Close, but no cigar
Size: 6-Cup
I recently ruined my aluminum Moka pot by accidentally putting it on the burner with no water in the reservoir. I bought the 6 cup Bialetti Musa as we will be getting an induction oven so a stainless steel model made sense. I had high hopes. However, while breaking the pot in, two items have led me to return it First, I cut the inside of my thumb on the lid when screwing the unit together - there was no excessive twisting involved. I love a good cup of coffee but I’m not willing to bleed for it. Second, unless you leave the pot on the stove for a few minutes to cool off the handle is uncomfortably hot - too hot to handle for more than a few seconds. Can you overcome both of these? Sure, but I really would like the coffee pot to serve me, not the other way around. For those wanting to know, I also measured the volume of coffee produced. It was consistently between 9 and 9.5 ounces when filling to just below the safety valve. Lastly, I was curious why so many reviews talked about the difficulty of opening the lid. I have to confess that this doesn’t seem like a reason not to buy the product. First, there is no need to open the lid when holding the pot by the handle. Second, I found that if I gripped the handle with three fingers (i.e. with my index finger above the handle) the reach of my thumb easily allowed me to open the lid at will. No problems with the quality of the brewing or anything else - I just don’t see any reason to make enjoying a good cup of coffee anything less than a simple thing. ... show more

  • Induction, perfect Makes strong coffee, but no Crema
Size: 6-Cup
Went for the larger size so I could yield a full mug of good strong coffee but it uses quite a bit of grounds. It is a hassle to empty the grounds after the coffee is made. I have to use a knife tip inorder to lift the filter out.
