  • READ FIRST. Only buy 6 cup model.
Color: Aluminum Silver Size: 6 -Cup Pattern Name: Pot
So a lot of people who bought this complained about the quality and discoloration of the aluminum, unfortunately these claims are valid but only on certain models and heres why. The models which brew 3 and 9 cups are not made in Italy, this is where the quality of the Moka Pot decreases and you are left with an inferior product which causes all the problems down the road. In the photo I provided you will notice that the model which brews 6 cups has a badge on the front of the box stating "made in italy" and the others do not. I've bought all the other models which brew more or less than 6 cups and noticed they did not have it. After several uses the ones that brew 3 and 9 cups deteriorated and had issues. So in short, only buy the one that brews 6 cups since that one is actually made in italy and well built. Hope this helps. Took me a while to figure this out. ... show more

  • Counterfeit?
Color: Aluminum Silver Size: 1-Cup Pattern Name: Pot
Something is fishy here. First off, I noticed that this is metal is more lightweight than my old, tried and true Bialetti. Secondly, the handle literally melted. What the heck? I compared it to my colleague's Bialetti, which also appears to be fairly new, and sure enough, the metal is heavier and the bottom is slightly more rounded, rather than the one I have which has a more "crisp" edge. Are these knock-offs? ... show more

  • disappointed in a brand I used to love
Color: Aluminum Silver Size: 6 -Cup Pattern Name: Pot
I lived in Europe for 12 years and used this pot every morning before my run to make perfect espresso. Unfortunately my original pot was lost in the move back to the states and the new one I bought from Amazon was not at all the same. The coffee has a metallic taste and the pot has not been able to stop shedding a residue that not only tastes awful but coats my fingers when handling it. you can see the dark material on one of the photos as it stained my finger. Not sure whats up but suspect a knockoff or material change. As you can see this item does not have the Bialetti logo or configuration. ... show more

  • This is not only a moka...
Color: Aluminum Silver Size: 6 -Cup Pattern Name: Pot
...this is the history of the Italian coffè! Premise: I am a 50yo italian who lives in US; I grown up in Italy, in a smal country town in Tuscany, using moka since I was barely teenager; my family, my grand mother, always used moka machine since I remember. Bialetti is not just a moka machine, is the history of the moka; I still have my grand mother's moka at home, it has probably more than 60 years (I don't know how old is it because I was born later than when it has been purchased) and is still working perfectly! not only, you can still find all the spare parts, gaskets, plates, etc., and it never been changed. if you talk about moka you have to say Bialetti. who grown in Italy probably will remember the spot on tv with the song....prodotto Bialetti!!!!!.... :):):) I would like then to give my personal suggestions about this moka machine, and based on my experience, give some quick guidelines on how to aproach to the moka world and get the best from it: 1) Bialetti moka is aluminium made, always been like that and it will be only that. 2) Moka is an instrument, what makes a good moka coffè is the water and the coffè powderas well. 3) Moka machine IS NOT dishwasher safe! 4) Moka machine DOES NOT wash with soap or detersives. it just need a quick wash under warm water and that's all. 5) at the first use, make coffè, throw it away and do it again. the coffè machine needs to keep the taste of coffè inside so the more you use it, the better the moka makes the coffè. 6) do not overtight the top; gasket doesn't need too much pressure and it can last for a longer time. 7) if you are alone, don't buy a 6 cups moka, buy just the size you need. Moka coffè must be made and drinked all when is still hot. it is not american coffè! 8) once used, just let its temperature drop down by itself, do not wash it when is still hot. I hope these few suggestion will help to better understand what means do a moka coffè; this is not a simple coffè, is a tradition, a life style, something that probably cannot neither be explained in words. I have rememberings of my gran mother coming at the table asking how many of us wanted the coffè for use the right moka, and at the end, place the glasses all togetheron the table and pour the coffè a bit of each, for give to all of us the same quantity. This was happening all day, at the end of the dinner, for years...decades. E adesso buona moka a tutti!!!! 6) ... show more

  • I love love love it
Color: Aluminum Silver Size: 6 -Cup Pattern Name: Pot
If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. I love espresso drinks from coffee shops, I used to drink just regular coffee but when I quit smoking the taste changed just enough that I didn't like it anymore. Mexican mochas on the other hand I still found palatable. But they're about 5 bucks a pop at my local coffee shop. I also didn't want to spend 150$+ on an espresso machine, they seem prone to breaking and judging by the reviews never really work right. So I settled on this, figuring I would try it and if it didn't make what I wanted I'd only be out about 30 bucks. It makes delicious coffee. Put some full city roast in their and fire it up and what comes out is espresso. From my readings I've gathered that its not actually espresso, as the Moka pot doesn't make enough pressure for it to be real espresso. But its playing the part convincingly, I can't tell the difference between what comes out of this and a shot of espresso. Its paid for itself a dozen times over at this point. Absolutely one of the best purchases I've ever made. I couldn't be happier. Pros - Excellent coffee - Cheaper than buying espresso from coffee shops - Tastes like coffee from espresso shops Cons - A bit time consuming (although I've grown to like the ritual of it) - Can be a bit finnicky to get the coffee to brew right - Time consuming to do a deep clean (a quick rinse is usually enough though) If you're on the fence, buy it. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Intoxicating aroma
Color: Aluminum Silver Size: 6 -Cup Pattern Name: Pot
I started off with the 3-cup and quickly ordered the 6-cup as well. After a bit of trial and error I have my process down. And when you get the process down and can start truly enjoying your coffee ritual, you will be amazed by the wonderful aroma that escapes just before the coffee begins to stream out. It fills the house. I have become a bit of a Bialetti junkie now. I've won an auction for some Bialetti espresso cups and just won an auction for a 9-cup with a set of espresso cups and saucers and a creamer and sugar bowl. And (hangs head in shame) I'm here buying a 12-cup. I haven't slept in months. Help me. ... show more
