I've used dozens of different impacts from IR, Chicago Pneumatic, Aircat/Nitrocat, Husky/Florida Pneumatic, Snap-On, and various cheap import clones. All of them have their ups and downs. I have two fairly expensive ($200) impacts that I use and if you use them long enough, they'll require rebuilds or eventually all the housings wear out and you need to toss them. I saw this in the vine program and I was excited to pick up a budget impact I could use for general purpose stuff like lug nuts to keep wear and tear off my more expensive impacts. I've been pleasantly surprised by this and my thoughts are as follows: Like all impacts, the power rating is a bit fuzzy so I go by real world experience. It hits hard, probably on-par with a 231c or other mid-range IR impact. It's no 2135ti/MG725/CP7748/1200K but it's got plenty of power for general purpose work. Weight is decent and it's lighter than a 244/231c but it's not as light as a 2135ti. Not unbearable by any means. Noise is fine, the handle looks like it has a provision for muffling but it's just empty space. If you don't need every single last bit of power, you can probably stuff this with some copper wool or similar to muffle it a bit. Ergonomics are good and I love the position of the reverse lever in the back. It reminds me of a Nitrocat 1200-k or the old Snap On Im31s. Well balanced and not overly heavy as I mentioned above. Durability wise, it feels decent but I'm very concerned about the reverse lever. The Nitrocat 1200-k protects more of the reverse lever. I feel like if you dropped this impact the wrong way and hit the switch it would pop right off and I'd be worried about the ability to get a replacement lever like on a higher end brand. If you want a mid-range impact you'll keep forever, go for a 231c. If you want the absolute most power, this isn't your best bet either. But, if you want a pretty decent and comfortable impact at a really good price, this is a good buy. ... show more

    • Perfect for the occasional Mechanic
Needed to do a brake job so I decided to finally bite the bullet and get one. It was easy to use. Just turn the switch to the single off position and it took the lug nuts right off. To put them back on I hand tighted them a bit and used the first setting of tighten to push them in. After they were all snugged I used the high pressure setting to get them tight. Used a breaker bar to complete the tighten as to not strip anything. It worked perfectly and saved my back for sure. I am keeping this for the long haul for sure. ... show more

This did much better than the similarly priced one from Wally World. It's a tad bit heavy but did the job on 12 20 year old rusted bumper bolts.

At almost 5lbs this is not a lightweight unit, but not so far off from other similar units. Standard 1/2 drive so most of my sockets fit. Easy to flip with the large red switch on the back. Took the rubber gasket off, added the included adapter and fired up my Dewalt compressor. Got to 100lbs and gave it some testing. Pretty much knocks it out of the park with power. If this doesn't pull it off, you probably need heat, a big hammer and some colorful language. Feels good in the hands and solid. Normal amount of noise, nothing excessive. Great thumb switch and the airflow seems good. At this price I expect something really decent, not Pro level but a unit to use often when the hand tools are just not going to cut it, and this delivers. Comes with a bottle of lubricant, a cheap bag in a brown box. I'm fine with the bag and the box is where I want the money and value to be - and this is spot on. ... show more
