I've ordered a lot of Valentines recently. I have a class that I need to hand out treats to, and I really wanted something that wasn't candy, and these are by far THE BEST I've gotten so far! I'm so thrilled with the quality of these Valentines! For starters, the box they came in is actually big enough. This has been a major problem with other items I've ordered. All of them come squished in a box too small that can't hold all of them. This has resulted in squished toys and lights that no longer work because buttons get pushed. Secondly, these have by far the best cards! I love love love the cards! They're so cute, high quality, and have fun little puzzles on the inside. As a comparison, one set of Valentines I ordered have these weird "cards" that just have a bizarre picture with no words on it. ???? How is that a Valentine's card? They're not themed at all! But these are so perfect and are definitely Valentine's themed. The whole set comes with 4 different types of card, tiny bags with the little building block sets, poly bags with twist ties to put them in, and a sheet of stickers. I'm not a huge fan of the stickers, and I'm not exactly sure their purpose? I assume you're supposed to cut them apart and put them in the goodie bags, but some of the stickers are coming off already and they're so close together that you can't really cut them apart. At well under a dollar a “puzzle,” this is a really neat — and economical — Valentine’s Day card idea that will entertain the recipient much longer than the average card, plus give them a little memento that they will keep and display to remember the occasion. Each sea creature puzzle comes in its own sealed bag with instructions. Testing one of the kits I was truly impressed by the quality of the many small pieces — they were perfect with no flashing or poor molding. They fit together well, and the instructions are colorful and clear. You can seal each small kit bag in a larger bag with the card, which you can also embellish with the included stickers. I looked over a number of Valentine card packages, and this one was certainly the most interesting and entertaining. The actual cards themselves aren’t as attractive as those in some of the other “toy” packages I looked at, but I don’t think the card is what someone who receives this will remember. I love mini building block sets like this as giveaways for goodie bags. These sets come individually packaged, in a variety of marine animal designs, so you can give one per child or as many as 12 per child without duplicating. Each individual kit includes an illustrated assembly guide for that creature. I did a trial run assembling the shark. I would not say the picture guide's instructions were particularly easy to follow. The parts are tiny and did not always line up perfectly, which added a bit of frustration. I highly recommend laying out the building blocks in a shallow box or on a baking sheet with sides, to avoid losing pieces that roll and bounce out of sight when (not IF) you drop them. Anyhow, I got the job done. The box included Valentine's Day gift cards, vinyl stickers, plus little cellophane baggies and twist-ties to bundle them with one or more creature kits. The cards had cute artwork that coordinated with the marine theme, printed on good quality card stock. However, the puzzles that were printed inside some of the cards were wonky. For example, one includes a simple crossword puzzle with weirdly random words, some of which (theg? agencg?) do not exist as spelled. Even with the quirks, this is a worthy collection of cool little toys for a modest cost. I plan to use them next Christmas as goodie bag fillers and stocking stuffers, minus the Valentine cards. ... show more

    • Fun kit, and way more pieces than expected!
This is a wonderful idea for Valentine's Day! Each of the building block kits has a lot more pieces than I realized, and the pieces are small. Obviously this wouldn't be good for very young kids, but anyone old enough to use tiny building blocks would have fun with this. I could see a potential problem if kids opened these in school, and lost the tiny pieces. Otherwise, most kids would enjoy getting one of these. These are a very fun alternative to candy and cards. This does come with stickers, cards, and bags, which together with the building blocks make a very substantial gift for kids. My 4th grader is giving them out. I would think they would be appropriate for maybe kindergarten up through 4th grade, or whatever the age kids stop giving out valentines. ... show more

My son is so excited to give these out for Valentine's Day. The cards are a cardstock and not just heavy paper. The Lego sets have clear, easy instructions and we were able to put ours together in under 5 minutes. The games are cute and simple. My teen daughter's friends were even impressed and thought they would be cool to receive. That was an unexpected bonus lol. I have 7 children and have been doing valentines for a long time. Great non-food alternative for Valentines. The design is labeled on the inside (which occasionally was hard to see). The final build looked just like the pictures. The colors were pretty and the design is printed on the block. There are no stickers to contend with.
