The non slip girth and underside keep the pad from slipping. The synthetic suede fabric is breathable and easy to care for, simply brush off and wipe up with a damp cloth. The pad is filled with a high density foam padding. At the withers there is additional cushioning. The pad is contoured proving a superior fit. Pockets on the side for added convenience. Choose your favorite color. Size: Horse adjusts approximately from 60 up to 86 Inch Girth extenders are available and can add up to 14 Inch Colors: Black, Tan/Brown Trim, Navy, Hunter Green or Brown/Black Trim and Red This bareback pad does not come with stirrups.

Highly recommend this pad. Comfortable, well made, attractive and fits a wide variety of horses. There is padding at the pommel, cantle and flaps, helps keep legs and seat in the correct place. There is a water bottle holder and the side pocket. Very handy when going on a trail ride. The pocket (shown in the picture) is large enough to hold a few supplies, i.e. hoof pick, small first aid kit, etc. The water bottle holder is large enough to fit most standard sized bottles. I ride English but purchased this western style for the pockets. There is also a hand hold at the front. Great tool for working on balance, seat position, and leg position. I absolutely LOVE this bareback pad! It's extremely light & easy to use. The girth that comes with it seemed a little small when I unboxed it, but the straps are generous and I have plenty of extra room for my horse (15.3hh) to fatten up into. The non slip girth and bottom of the pad itself keep it from slipping around. No joke, I think I could ride this thing without the girth if I need to! It's that grippy! The pockets are generous, and while the drink bottle doesn't seem like it'll last for the life of the pad, it's nice to have now and the pocket should fit another bottle easily. My favorite part is the padding inside. It's firm and doesn't shift around. It's not hugely thick, but it's dense enough. And thanks to the generous girth you could put another pad underneath if you needed to. My horse and I agreed: fabulous comfortable ride. This is my favorite bareback pad of all time. ... show more

This bareback pad is even better looking than the pictures. I bought the green, which is just as shown. It's well made, well thought out. The upper is comfortable and gives a secure feeling. The underside and girth make sure the pad itself doesn't slip on the horse. Two convenient pockets, one open for a water bottle, the other closed for phone, keys, whatever. This thing is great. A real workhorse of bareback pads. This is my first bareback pad and originally I wanted a suede one but I think I made a great choice here in terms of value for price. It's grip on my 15.3hh qh (who usually fits a standard QH bar or wide fit western saddle) is great. Cinch has room for him to get fatter tho that's not in our 10 year plan. Cinch fits my more mutton-withered 14.3hh QH, too. Definitely won't fit on the 12hh pony though. Water bottle holder n little pockets are brilliant. Strap up front great for assist in swinging up but doesn't grind on the crotch when you're riding. I got tan and I like the color. Pretty much true to color from the photos. I spent a lot of time shopping around and will be spending many a mile on this thing, and I anticipate it lasting a really, really long time with just basic care ... show more

I can’t say enough good things about this pad!! It stays in place. It is easy to use. Easy to clean. It has a great price point!!! I looked a several pads and this has the best price. It fit horses perfectly. It’s performance when you ride is great!! It has rubber backing so no slipping back while you ride. It has a nice cinch. I have had other bareback pads and nothing compares to this pad!! It’s made well and not cheap material. I would suggest not to use a bareback pad if you want to hold on to balance yourself to stay on horse, that’s the purpose of a saddle. ... show more

I liked the way this pad was soft & flexible to my horse's back. The suede topside helps keep your seat in place. Good thing it comes with a girth otherwise I don't know where you'd find a single buckle girth. I don't like that the strap goes up & around the back potentially creating a pressure point on my horse's spine when the girth is tightened. The pockets are great for putting stuff in there when trail riding, water bottle it comes with is cheesy. Not sure how well it will breathe in hot weather, it's quite large & covers a lot of the back. ... show more

This pad is so comfortable! I put a saddle pad under it, wow, super comfy! It’s great by itself or with a pad under it. It did not slide around at all, even the straps that attach the girth have grippy material. Very nice quality and soft material, you won’t be disappointed.,

I have 30 years of riding experience and I would endorse this product in a heartbeat. Here is why: - the quality of the materials is high -the choice of the material, perfectly selected -Size, cut is versatile *I use this pad on a 13 year old 16 hh quarter horse, he is a big boy and has prominent withers. My daughter uses the same actual pad(I purchased just one pad) on her 12 hh pony, who is round barreled as they come, and this pad is able to accommodate both body types. -the construction, sewing, thread choice, every component was very well selected, and placed properly. Who ever the person was that designed this was very knowledgeable of horses and fed up with crap equipment because they went above and beyond in the design and construction with this product. There is one additional plus to this product- it's so soft to sit on. I took the time here to write a review, not something I would normally take the time to do, I just haven't ever purchased a product, any for that matter, that have impressed me in such a way as this one. I don't know how this pad could be any better either. Its price is reasonable, considering the time, effort, material, construction, perfection and thought that obviously went into the product. I'm totally impressed for once! Update: I purchased this in 2015 almost 9 years later and it still looks and wears like it is brand new!! ... show more
