I have a 28 lb. cocker spaniel who loves to chew. He has eaten a pair of leather shoes (all expect the high heel). He has eaten his leather collars (except the hardware), too. To satiate his appetite for chewing, I used to give him rawhide but he has no patience and would swallow big chunks of it and I had to find something else to give him. I started giving him bully sticks about 2 years ago and think they are so much better. They are highly digestible and provide at least some nutritional value (protein) that rawhide and rubber toys do not. I like these by Best Bully Sticks because they are high quality and uniform in size. They are all trimmed and 6 inches. They are all about the same thickness. There are no super short, thin, or flimsy ones. These are GREAT compared to some other brands I have bought in the past that had short, thin, flimsy ones mixed in with the good ones. For safety reasons, I don't give my dog the little pieces because I don't want him to try to swallow them or choke. I threw out the ones that don't meet my standards and wasted quite a bit with the other brands. Not with Best Bully Sticks. I inspected the entire bag and there are no little ones (short, thin, or flimsy) that I have to throw out. I also like these very much because they do not smell as strong as some other that I have tried. Some bully stick can smell pretty darn bad/gross when they are wet with dog saliva and the smell can quickly fill a room. While these do have odor, it is not strong. And the smell, even though I don't care for it, isn't so gross that I have to leave the room when my dog is chewing away. He likes to chew in his bed, too. And because these are low odor, I don't feel like I have to wash his bedding after I give him a treat. Best Bully Sticks have met all of my expectations. But what about my dog? I'm happy to report that he loves these just like he loves everything else. One will keep him busy for an hour or two. And he can eat and digest the entire thing. It's great because I don't find slimy left over or half chewed/eaten treats around the house anymore like I did when I gave him rawhide. I would definitely purchase these again and recommend them to others! ... show more

This may be my best overall dog treat purchase ever. I purchase only grain-free treats with all-natural ingredients that have no China connections, so I was happy to find bully sticks. My dog doesn't always appreciate my choices, so I waited to write this review until she gave her opinion. She loved them immediately and still does even after they are no longer something new and different. Even the smaller ones provide 1-2 hours of enjoyment for my 38-pound chewer, and the 6" size is just right for her paws to grasp. This is also a great product from a quality vs. price standpoint, in my opinion. The first bully sticks I bought in a different brand were on sale but were still an outrageous price. Canine contentment is a wonderful thing, but I cannot justify $4 for a single treat, so I searched Amazon and found these. They aren't inexpensive and I still had to gulp before I hit the order button, but these sticks have exceeded my hopes and expectations. They also satsify my dog in a way nothing else has. Definitely will buy this product again. P.S. Other reviewers comment on the uneven size of the sticks. The bag I received has many thick sticks (3/4" to 1" diameter), and the thinner ones (1/2" is about the smallest) are still large enough to last several hours. One downside for me: The aroma when I open the bag is farirly strong, but I don't notice the smell once I give the stick to my dog, and it's certainly more pleasant than freeze-dried liver treats (disgusting, but the dog likes them). UPDATE Dog still says 5 stars, I am now at 4.5 I just received my second order of these. Good news: All the sticks in this bag are roughly 3/4" diameter, and only 1 tapers to just under 1/2". Unfortunately, I have to report that the longer the first bag stayed around, the worse the sticks smelled. For my next order, I chose a more expensive brand advertised as having low odor. True in comparison to these, but the sticks were smaller in size, and my dog plowed through them. I decided I couldn't justify the higher price to spare my nose a minute of unpleasantness, so I reordered these. The odor coming from this bag was overwhelming the minute I opened it. I run to the soap and sanitizer every time I touch one. My dog, however, seems to prefer these stinky monsters (not a huge surprise). They are still her favorites, so I guess I will practice holding my breath until she carries her prize out of range. All in all, price and size outweigh aroma, but I am knocking off half a star. ... show more
