I've got an old PC from the early 2000s and this little doodad let's me display without having to break out the heavy old monitor I used to use with the computer. Great in a pinch for those special cases where you need one. My only problem was with 1080 performance and overheating/dropping connection. It was easy enough to fix by placing the dongle in front of a fan, but it should’ve been addressed during the product design stage. It was compatible with a security camera DVR and a server rack I used it on and a few PCs. Only dropping connection when it was at 1080+ and got warm. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have an older computer that I needed to access but my monitors are no longer vga and I looked for adapters and cables on Amazon. Most of the ones I bought did not work, but this one was perfect. It is no nonsense, plug and play and easy to install. I used it on a splitter to connect two monitors converting vga to hdmi. The image is great, and although at times it may loose some definition overall it does what it’s supposed to do. HDMI does not carry sound, so you should be aware that you need to connect a speaker to the audio card. Other than that, it works great. ... show more

I ordered this to convert the VGA output on my Supermicro x9 based server motherboard to HDMI. It only displayed an image after the OS got into its bootup phase. The screen was blank during the motherboard bios and various controller startup screens. Researching online afterwards shows this is a common problem with the x8/x9/x10 and possibly other Supermicro server motherboards. The only reliable way on these motherboards is to use a VGA monitor or use the onboard IPMA if enabled. ... show more
