  • Good bench vice! A little wobbly but great introductory vice.
Mounted this on my work bench - I wish it came with mounting hardware but it’s not a problem if you have spare screws or mounting hardware laying around. The ONLY drawback I’ve had is a slight wobble side to side when I have locked the vice down. Even when tightening the rotation clamp as much as I can my unit wobbles slightly. End of the world? Not at all. The vice grip still works well for what I need it to :) ... show more

  • Great for the price
I bought this for my husband and he loves it. He said no more cutting his hands trying to hold things lol. Heavy and sturdy. Definitely worth the buy.

  • Defective when first used
It was weeks before I could install this low cost vice. When I did so I found that the outer jaw was not keyed to the screw so it had to be moved in and out with a hammer. Return time expired so will junk this and buy a higher priced vice, which I now badly need

  • An awesome general purpose workbench vice.
This is the perfect bench vice for the home handyperson. It’s a heavy-duty vice with multiple jaws to handle both round and flat stock. The jaws are 4.5 inches wide and have a maximum opening of 4.3 inches, with a throat depth of 2 inches. Once secured to your workbench, the vise swivels on its base a full 270 degrees. This vise comes with everything you need to mount it-4 bolts, nuts, and fender washers. This is a premium quality bench vice that is well worth the $49.12 that it sells for. It’s a sturdy vise able to exert over one ton of pressure to hold the workpiece between its jaws. ... show more

  • Opening jaw failure
The jaw closing strength is good, swivel lock works ok. Mounting bolts and base work well also. However the screw and moving jaw are not able to open after clamping making this vise a paper wieght. The screw itself when opening is holding the moving jaw with only a half moon snap ring. This immediately broke off after one use opening and closing the vice. ... show more

  • Decent budget vise
Got this YaosiYeen Bench Vise 4-1/2in for use in a small workshop on a small homestead. Design and build quality are decent for a budget vise, casting has some rough spots, coating flakes off in places, calling this heavy duty is a stretch, but for lighter duty weekend uses this could provide decades of service. Functionality is decent for a budget vise, works alright, holds work pieces tightly, motion is loose, wiggles. Overall, 4 stars, decent budget vise. ... show more

  • At 10 lb & 4-1/4" jaw opening, this is the "Goldielocks"-size vise for a portable workshop.
I don't have a permanent workshop. So that means a large vise permanently mounted on a work bench is not really an option. Instead, I have an extra large heavy-duty vise mounted on a board for semi-portable use. It's useful, but it's so unwieldy that I often don't bother to bring it out. I also have a smaller, portable vise (2-1/2" maximum jaw opening) that clamps onto the edge of a work table. The portability is great, but I find the maximum jaw opening too limiting for many tasks. In this 10 lb, 4-1/4" jaw opening vise, I have found the perfect size ("Goldielocks") for my non-permanent workshop. It's large and heavy enough to be stable and thus useful for most tasks I do, both for woodworking and metal. The 10 lbs weight is not too heavy for me to quickly bring it out of the house and mount it when needed. For the lighter tasks, I don't even have to mount it, and the 10 lbs weight keeps it in place on the work table just fine. (When it's not mounted, I place a small wood block under the movable jaw for extra stability.) Your needs and situation may well be different from mine. But for use in a semi-portable, non-permanent setup like I have, I think this vise is just the perfect size. It's very useful. 5 stars. As measured: - Maximum jaw opening size: 4-1/4" (The movable jaw would come right off if you keep opening beyond the maximum. 4-1/4" is the measurement with just a few threads engaging. 4" may be a more prudent limit for a task requiring a strong grip.) - Jaw length: 4-3/8" - Weight: 4,525g / 9.98 lbs (Not including the mounting bolts, provided) ... show more
