Very disappointed in this seat! I researched extensively before I purchased the seat, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, despite following the installation instructions to the letter, the bracket would not tighten onto the frame of my 26 inch Lady's Schwinn mountain bike. Although it appeared tight--and the bolts were beyond tight--once my 27lb son was seated in the carrier, the bracket slipped down the frame of my bike and the bottom of his seat would end up scraping the rear tire of my bike, halting the bike abruptly. Additionally, the instructions are somewhat hard to read--tiny print and very basic pictures on a different page. The seat itself is a flimsy, soft plastic material that doesn't weigh much but also doesn't seem durable. Other than spending hours trying to install it and not being able to use it, my least favorite part of this seat was the buckle of the restraints. It consists of a plastic buckle that gets jammed into a plastic opening. There was no clasp for the buckle. I had to force it into the plastic opening to 'lock' it, and force it back out again to 'unlock' it. Rudimentary at best, but also problematic because it didn't seem very secure. Finally, the seat arrived in a large, plain Amazon box with no additional packaging, which I found odd. Before I moved forward with the return/refund process, I attempted to contact the manufacturer and the seller. Easier said than done. The manufacturer's website has phone numbers but they appear to be in Italy. No other customer service number for quicker assistance. I couldn't find anywhere on Amazon to contact the seller beyond giving the seller feedback--not what I was looking for. Anyway, buyer beware. This might work for other bikes--that's clear from the many positive reviews--but it doesn't work for everyone. I felt pretty confident after reading reviews and researching that this would work for my bike, but it didn't. I will be returning this and paying a little more to purchase another seat at a bike store where they have already assured me they can install it for me. ... show more
