  • Bell Qualifier Saved My Face.
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
I purchased this helmet last year. Last week I crashed going about 40-45 mph and landed head first onto the street. This helmet saved my face and possibly my life. I highly recommend.

  • Protects Your Dome
Color: Matte Black Size: Large
The only problem I had with this helmet was some of the padding near the chin would occasionally pop out due to poor quality snaps. Otherwise, this is exactly what you want in a helmet: it protects your head very well (see photos - graphics added to black helmet). The fact I'm able to write this review after landing on my head in a high-side crash tells you everything you need to know. The helmet works. Fit was excellent - snug on me but I like them that way. I have a longer head/face shape and Bell's helmets fit me very well. ... show more

  • It's very comfortable and a great deal for the price
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
About 2 weeks ago, I crashed into a moose going 55 mph, got thrown off my bike and hit my head on the asphalt. This helmet saved me from serious injury or death. It's very comfortable and a great deal for the price. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Problems surfaced
Color: Matte Black Size: Medium
Okay helmet for the money... Nice fit and very light. Bell could put a bit more money into the top vents, as they are a bit flimsy. My only other gripes tend to be helmet brand wide. Please offer a tinted shield and chin curtain as standard equipment. Update: After using the helmet for a while, the top vents rattled incessantly - about to drive me crazy. My fix, for sanity sake, was to pop the vents off and reinstall without the vent shutters. The culprits are the little screws I show in the picture. They constantly loosen up under vibration. Can't close the vents now, but at least I remain sane. And yes, it's ridiculous that there is no mesh covering the vent inlets, keeping bugs out of the helmet. Just going to use this helmet for one season, then get rid of it. Another update: Helmet started giving me headaches due to tight fit. And like other reviews, faceshield would suddenly open when I turned my head to look for traffic. Helmet going in the garbage. ... show more

  • Great helmet for the price!
I've lost count on how many helmets I've bought/tried on over the last few years trying to find that elusive "perfect" fit. So far the Bell Qualifier fits best (I have a big head that is apparently longer than "intermediate" oval but wider than "narrow" oval; makes finding good fit very difficult). Most of my other helmets have been HJC because I found that they fit pretty good but far from perfect; so far the Bell Qualifier outperforms HJC in fitment. Initially I thought that the visor on the Bell was going to be a problem staying "cracked" with high wind, but on my cruiser it is great up to over 50 mph (stays "cracked") but on my FJR it won't stay open over about 35, but I think that's because the windshield at it's lowest is directing a focused blast of wind right at the visor, so no complaint on the visor. The top vents are ok, they blast a lot of wind if you turn your head slightly but not so much looking straight ahead; the chin vent is about as good as any other helmet I own (mid-priced or budget); I'm sure some of the higher end helmets have way better air flow. I've tried on many Arai and Shoei helmets but I can't find one that fits right, and at over $500 for those there's no way I'm buying one unless the fit is absolutely perfect. So for now, the Bell Qualifier is my go to helmet!! Now I'm going to try a Bell modular to see if I can replace my HJC modular :) ... show more

  • Face shield does not stay closed
Color: Matte Black Size: Medium
I bought this helmet after trying it on in a store and finding it a good fit and comfortable. I only wore the helmet once and my issue with the bell qualifier is that the face shield does not lock and stay closed. When traveling at highway speeds on my motorcycle, simple head checks over 55mph resulted in the visor blowing open. To me this was distracting and dangerous and I was not confident in making necessary head checks at normal highway speeds. I would then have to take my hand off the steering to close the face shield at highway speed repeatedly. I would not recommend buying this helmet if you plan to ride on the highway or above 50-60mph. A simple locking mechanism would completely change my review and I would've kept the helmet. I even looked into buying some sort of aftermarket visor lock but could not find one on the market. I am thankful that amazon let me return the item and refund me without issue. ... show more

  • Bigger than other helmets, and very windy
Color: Matte Black Size: X-Large
All of my helmets fit my head perfectly, but THIS helmet is far bigger than all the others. My 2nd biggest helmet is also a Bell and looking at their other products, it seems to be a common thing. I have a big head so I order XL and I understand some companies you need to get L or XXL but again, nothing compares to how oversized these things are. It's not extra protect either, all DOT certified helmets will protect your head, the reason these are so big is the extra padding inside that they made room for. I'll admit, it's comfy, but noisy. Not the noisiest helmet I own, but I can barely hear my engine. I'll say, not intended for highway travel. I would recommend earbuds, but I like to think hearing your engine is important. You could disguise how Bubble-headed this thing is by adding a hood to your jacket, or wearing a hoodie, but again, summer time. Even their smallest size is bigger than all my other helmets, according to Product Dimensions listed on their site. Received the package opened, steaming hot inside the helmet, but perfect condition. Unfortunately, I dropped it too many times to return so I'll just sell it. ... show more

  • Good helmet with minor issues
Color: Matte Black Size: Medium
Overall the helmet is good, but... The helmet came with a loose vent which is very easy to fix and took me a minute to adjust. The left side of the visor pops out almost every time I rotate it from the open position to the closed position. I’ve tried loosening and tightening the screws for the left side visor mount/quick release but it hasn’t improved or gotten worse. Could be the visor but I’m not spending $40 to find out if it’s the issue or not. Update: after 5 weeks of ownership and moderate use the loop that the chin strap goes through ripped off. Right now it’s being held on via duct tape and krazy glue. Absolutely insane that a loop designed for chin strap would be held on by four stitches that aren’t heavy duty material. I expected these parts to last a lot longer. ... show more
