I'm giving these a 5 star because they are a great value for the price. But if these were the expensive programmed type that cost $1600 at Costco, I'd give them a maybe 2 stars. Cheap hearing aids leave a lot to be desired, but they have an important place for the hard of hearing who can't afford $1600 for even the 'cheap' Costco ones. I look at them like my Dollar Store reading glasses...I always keep several pair on hand, because I always lose them. Pros: If you put the rubber earpiece on as far as it will go, and remember to turn down the volume before putting them on, the aids don't whistle. Sturdy and they don't look at all like cheap pieces of junk, like the $57 (for one hearing aid) Britzgo I bought. They amplify sound well and have a variable volume control all the way from nothing to LOUD. They aren't huge and they are pretty unobtrusive. There are different size earbuds for different size ear canals. They are pretty comfortable (but do take a bit getting used to, build up a bit at a time until you can wear them all day). It’s easy to learn how to put them in, just needs a bit of practice at first. Cons: They are still bigger than my old Costco aids. (But I bet this would make them easier to handle for people with tremors) While they amplify sound well, they amplify ALL sound. I can hear all the background sounds just fine, but I still have problems hearing voices, because these can’t be programmed to match the sound frequency I need to have amplified. I don’t know where the decibel cut of is for the ‘noise reduction’ feature is…when someone yells, or the phone rings in my ear, it sure seems awful loud! The description of the aids say, ‘…unique noise reduction feature and digital circuitry and control which means you have total control over what you hear and what you don’t.’ This is kind of misleading because you only have control over how quiet or how loud the sound is, there is no ‘total’ control, not when we can’t filter out high or low sounds. Other items: I hope the price on these don’t go up too much more, I bought mine for $15.99 and a week or two later they are almost $20 (which is still an excellent price, especially for 2 of them). I assume I got them at an introductory price. By the way, I bought two sets of them, right off the bat, even though there weren’t any reviews yet, but I figured they couldn’t be any worse than the stupid Britzgo I bought and I was tired of going ‘huh?’ all the time. I don’t know anything about the battery life yet, I haven’t worn them long enough. EDIT 3/29/18: The battery life is pretty bad, I can get maybe a day and a half out of them. The battery just kind of runs out and I have to turn up the volume until I need to change out the battery. I'm still giving these a 5 star though, because over all, they are still a good deal for the price. Overall: I can hear a lot better with these aids than without them. They’re not perfect, but they sure are great for the price. Buy a few pairs of them, if you lose things like I do. ... show more

I had one of my regular hearing aids fail the other day and the thought of not being able to hear in stereo while I waited for it to be sent in scared me. I bought a set of these so I could use one of them if I had a failure on my regular ones in the future. They are basically like having headphones on. They will feedback if you don't put the earpiece in all the way. But I have to say for the price they are worth it. ... show more

Did anyone else get 2 of the same ear because if you notice one side has the writing on the outside like it's supposed to then the other side has the screws facing out or is it jus the pair I was sent lol plus the 83 yr old man I bought them for says he can hear better without them lol

I finally found a great pair of hearing aids! They are very reasonable and work great! Not a lot of background noise and they fit well behind my ear also and are very comfortable! These are very worth it, love them!

Bought these for mom. They lasted about 1 minute before they were out of her ears. She complained that there was nothing but hissing. I tried them after. If I forced them into the ear, the hiss was gone. However, the sound quality was awful. These are nothing more than an amplifier, but they amplify everything around you. Similar to the TV ears that she used to use for the TV, this product is not very good. I bought her a pair of Sennheiser headphones (RS 175 RF) for TV watching and there was a world of difference for her. $40 vs $180, sometimes you get what you pay for. If you need these sort of things, better to go get fitted by a professional and get a higher quality product. Granted, a hearing aid that can help tune out tinnitus is going to cost big bucks. ... show more
