I need to be cool when I sleep, but I can't sleep without a blanket which can really be a problem on hot summer nights. I had a thin and very lightweight microfiber blanket but even that got too warm and would keep me awake. This cooling blanket is the answer. It's thicker and a little heavier than my previous blanket, but in a good way. It's like having a light hug when it's draped over my shoulders. I would say this is more of a temperature controlling blanket than a cooling blanket. It doesn't actively provide cooling, but it doesn't get me too warm. On the other hand, when it's chilly, it does just as good a job at keeping me warm. Aside from it's job as a blanket, there are a couple of other things that make this stand out for me: ✅ It feels great. It's got a really nice soft and silky smooth feel. ✅ It lays nice and flat and drapes really well at the sides, end and corners of the mattress ✅ Because of it's smoothness, it doesn't stick to my top sheet or duvet cover like the microfiber one did ✅ It stays put. My other blanket would bunch up and move around unless it was tucked under the end of the mattress. This one doesn't budge in between changing the linens. I love this blanket and have ordered more for the other beds in the house. ... show more

This is amazing. It definitely keeps things cooler than a normal blanket. My son snagged it from me because his room gets hot at night regardless of what the rest of the house is doing. He said it helps a lot and I don't think I'm getting it back. I've looked at similar comforters/blankets and they're just too expensive. So I have to admit, the idea of a cooling blanket seems pretty paradoxical from the get-go. That's really not their function! However, we're in the middle of a heat wave here. Overall, this is a pretty nice blanket, but cooling it most definitely is not. The fabric cover does feel cool on first touch, but that fades quickly and like all polyester, this guy doesn't breathe worth a damn. You get hot quickly once you're under it and it's trapping all your body heat in. Still, as just a blanket-blanket instead of a cooling blanket, it's pretty nice. The color is good, the texture is good, and it's got a satisfying weight and drape to it. I'm looking forward to pulling it out again once winter comes and giving it a try as a seasonally appropriate blanket. ... show more
