I needed fettling knives to cut out pieces in my pottery. Using a needle tool works but displaces the clay a little more than a fettling knife. These are both great. The smaller knife was too sharp for me but probably good for another person less prone to accidents than I am, lol. So I dulled it a bit on a metal file so it was more like the larger knife.     • The smaller knife is fantastic!!!!
The bigger knife is just a standard pottery fettling knife, but the little one is AMAZING!! The blade is short, sturdy, thicker than a fettling blade, and SHARP! I find it useful for beveling edges, carving, and especially for cutting open enclosed forms. Couldn't live without it!
