Using them in my basement to replace fluorescent lights that are getting old, use much more power and the replacement bulbs are hard to get rid of and expensive to buy. These are brighter, and use much less power. They are very light weight and easy to hang with the included hardware and have outlets on the ends which makes it easy for powering the next set if your running in succession. How long they will last ? Time will tell on that one. ... show more

I had 16 fluorescent shop lights, many of which had bulbs which needed replacement as they were getting dim. Many of these shop lights were 30-40 years old, and were heavy because they used metal and old style ballasts. Replacing bulbs was a job I dreaded because of the weight and the location (over tools and work benches). I looked at the prices for replacement bulbs and decided to check out led style lights. I replaced all my old fixtures in one day and now have much much more light in the shop.. The ability to daisy chain lights also resulted in fewer extension cords. The fixtures come with hanging chains and hooks which turned out to fit my old ceiling mounts (nails and eye hooks in joists) just fine The fixtures weigh ounces rather than pounds and I used an extra light mounted to a photo tripod (using a phone attachment) as a readily positional extra light source. these are easy to install. I have installed 8 of them now in three locations. I recommend the hanging chain method... I flat mounted the first ones in my garage to gain head room-- but this method is much more difficult and doesn't really gain you much in the long run. Lights daisy chain together- if you have an electrician hard-wiring your lights in, these are not the best option... but if you have a plug and can put these up, they are a very viable option! These have held up for use for 2 years now on my first install. Hug improvement from the single light bulb in my garage. Garage retrofit-- remove light fixture and install a plug in it's place in the ceiling (this is now a switched plug in my setup). Install lights and daisy chain together. Plug light #1 into the ceiling plug. Lights operate with my current light switch. Zip tie wire, use staples to secure wiring so it does not hang down. boom! ... show more

I have installed two kinds of LED lights to replace 40W fluorescent lights in my 2 car garage/ workshop. I installed some of these Bbounders, at about $12.50 per fixture, Wattmeter shows it draws 37 Watts, and it seems fairly bright: I would guess 3,000 - 3,500 Lumens. (Seems less than 100 Lumens per watt) These lights were on sale, to provide 4 fixtures for $50. The bulbs are integral to the fixtures (no parts can come apart). Each fixture weighs a light 10oz, and could easily be suspended by 2 pieces of string or twist ties or nearly anything. And I converted some of my old fluorescent fixtures to LED bulbs with this product: Hyperikon T8 T12 LED Bulbs 4 Foot, 40 Watt Replacement (18W), T10 Light Tube, 5000K, Dual End Ballast Bypass, Direct Wire, UL, DLC, Clear, 4 Pack, at $10 per bulb, which draw 18W a bulb or 36W for two. ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_p2htEbEDXETA6 They are heavier/ more substantial, and are noticeably BRIGHTER than the Bbounder fixtures. I believe their 4,600 Lumen claim. I have some fixtures where I only needed ONE Hyperikon Bulb (2,300 Lumens) and the Bounder fixture with 2 bulbs is a bit brighter than that, which is how I estimate 3,000 to 3,500 lumens for the Bounder. But the ONE Hyperikon bulb is MUCH brighter than my 10+ year old 2x40W fluorescents, so this is a big energy savings: 80W per fixture to 18-36 Watts, depending how much more light you enjoy. I did rewire my flourescent fixtures, which really only takes 5-10 min per fixture to remove the ballast completely. The Wago wire connectors make this job sort of FUN. Wago 221-415 Lever-Nuts 5 Conductor Compact Connectors 10 PK The quality of the light seems good for both options. (for a workshop, I like the 5,000 K color temp. for both) Suggestion for Bbounder: While Amazon was shipping my Bbounders, I constructed a simple 2x2 mount that is mounted on my garage wall to go just underneath my open garage door, so it would light above my table saw and belt sander. So I wanted to mount one Bbounder to the bottom of a 2x2. I was irritated at the complexity of trying to mount a Bbounder directly to a surface. You have to measure very carefully and screw 2 screws in leaving a tiny, 1/16" gap or less, to grip the fixture adequately. It would have been SO MUCH EASIER to just have a piece of plastic sticking out between the bulbs where my finger is in the picture, to simply drive a screw though a tab of plastic and you are DONE! No measuring, no 1/16 gap, etc. ... show more

Within the warranty period I had three out of four lights fail. Lights are used daily and are awesome lights for the money. Contacted the seller and was sent three new lights. Awesome customer service!!!!

I ordered these to replace fluorescent lighting in my workshop. They are an excellent replacement. Quick on, no bulbs to replace or have to take to toxic waste - lower wattage and no buzz. Exact same brightness and temp - a true 5000k, which is daylight balanced. As a photographer as well as someone that likes to do workshop projects, this color temp is ideal. A higher number - ie. 6000k is too bright, and less is yellowish and not as easy to work under. Found these after looking at lots (an overwhelming amount) of alternatives - and finding a helpful review in Popular Mechanics. Couldn't be happier - highly recommended. ... show more
