It is annoying if my iPhone runs out of energy in the middle of the day when I am web surfing or listening to podcasts, but it is far worse for me if I run out while depending on GPS navigation. I bought this battery case specifically to extend battery life while using a hiking application. I find that I can fully recharge my phone twice using the battery case while running the hiking navigation application. This will give me at least three hours of hiking, which is plenty for me. Your run time may vary. I had planned to remove the case after hiking, but I have gotten used to having a reserve energy supply for my daily use, and so far the case has remained on the phone. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and its pricing. My only concern is that I have no way to contact the manufacturer with support questions, see oddities below. Pros It works. It extends the operating time for the phone. The battery case has much more energy than the built-in iPhone battery. The iPhone and battery battery case both charge automatically when connected to the wall charger. You do not need to remove the phone from the case to charge the phone or the battery. The case is a perfect fit for my iPhone 6s. The phone with battery case fits into my existing belt holster. There is a convenient charge status indicator on the back of the case. There are printed instructions included with the case. Additional instructions and specifications are printed on the inside of the case. Cons The battery case is heavy. The case is a tight fit on the phone and that makes it a little difficult to install and remove. You are warned not to force the phone into the case at an angle to avoid damaging the lightning connector. The case recharges slowly from the wall charger. It usually takes overnight to get a full charge. When the iPhone battery is low, you need to manually initiate the recharge by pressing a button on the back of the case. The battery case will automatically terminate the recharge when the iPhone is fully charged. Oddities There is no manufacturer name or contact information on the package. There is no manufacturer name or contact information on the battery case. I’m very pleased with this battery case. I’ve used battery cases for years to be sure I won’t run out of battery for my phone when I’m out for extended periods. I live in Western North Carolina and do a lot of motorcycles riding in very remote places in the mountains. I need to have long battery life for my mapping program or should I get stranded. The weakest component I’ve seen on the previous battery cases I’ve owned is the jack. They tend to be wobbly and fail to make good contact after a little while. The jacks on these cases feel like the jacks on my iPhone. The plug snaps in place and is held very firmly. The only downside I feel is that the back surface is not rubberized like the rest of the case and it can slide if set on a smooth angled surface. I put a piece of non slip tape on the back which easily solved that potential problem. I liked the case so much I bought one for my wife’s iPhone. ... show more

I should have returned it while in the refund period. When I first used it while biking I turned it on to charge while in my bike backpack, it got a little hot and when got up to about 60% repeatedly turned on and off the charging about every few seconds. 60% was enough so I just turned it off. I kept it and used it for another 7 weeks. If in my pocket it would get warm but usually did not turn off/on when charging. After two months I got caught in the rain with it in my pocket. Might have got just slightly wet and now it doesn't work at all. I would not recommend. I am going to try a different one/design. ... show more

I needed an iPhone battery case for my new iPhone SE and Apple doesn't make them for that model. I found this battery case on Amazon for about 1/3 the Apple price so I didn't expect it to be a good choice. I was wrong. Fits perfectly, lighter than the iPhone battery case I had for my old iPhone 6, solid feel. One problem I had with the Apple battery case is that, if there was anything else in my pocket, i.e. my wallet, the soft rubbery texture of the case would accidentally pull my wallet out of my pocket at the same time; almost lost my wallet a couple of times. The texture of this case is not tacky so that's not a problem. Unlike the Apple battery, this battery case does not automatically kick in when the phone battery is too low; when you get that phone message, you have to press and hold down the button on the back of the case until the phone powering indicator appears (lightening bolt on top of the battery icon at the top right of the screen. Your phone will then start repowering just as if you had reattached the lightening cable. So this case works a little differently than the OEM Apple battery case but: 1) it's 1/3 the price, and, 2) Apple doesn't make a battery case that will fit the SE so getting a case from Apple is not an option. I have an iphone 7, i had an apple charging case that worked well but finally died. I jumped on Amazon to buy another Apple charging case and they don’t offer them for my old phone anymore. I bought this case, it works opposite of an iPhone case, uses the phone battery first. I wasn’t excited about that but it charged the phone at least 2x. Even though this case is heavier and bulkier i was happy with it for 4 days util it quit charging my phone day five. The battery will charge but won’t charge my phone. I went to Walmart and got a $9 battery charger to get me home on my long flight. I hope i can return it, won’t buy it again. Missing my apple case. ... show more
