I love this book. I now enjoy playing pool with my spouse. When we invested in a pool table for our home, I wanted an instruction book to help me have a better understanding of the game and how to improve play... without having to be a whiz at geometry (i.e. angles) and "trick" shots. I looked at a lot of the books offered on the subject and THIS one was just what I needed. It's well written and takes the reader on an easy to understand journey of the game, the tools of the game, and how to play the game. Just as the title says, it's about "basic pool". This book was a gift for a friend who has been wanted to learn how to play pool and she loved it. It has a lot of good information and is easy to understand because there are A LOT of pictures to show you how to apply what you're reading. This was a great buy and worth the money.

Wanted a simple explanation on rules of the game, but this book goes into way farther detail than I wanted!

This book goes over the basic concepts of pool that must be mastered in order to advance to higher skill levels in the game. It reads like a friend who is an expert giving advice to a beginning player. Very helpful.
