  • Perfect for the memory challenged
This selection of memory puzzles was perfect for my 90 year old mother who is functioning, but has some memory problems. There was a nice variety of very different puzzle challenges. The puzzles were engaging and neither too difficult nor too easy. Now that she's done with this book, I wish I could find another that was the same, but with new puzzles. ... show more

  • Fun book for Seniors
I was in a rehab facility for a month due to having pnemonia and having to get stronger in order to be able to go home. After a while tV and the radio is boring. Same for reading. I was so glad when i recieved this because not only was it fun, it made me use my brain unlike I feel like i had in a while. There were all different kind of puzzles to do, fiinding what the difference was from one picture compared to another, also math puzzles, trying to pick out the correct answer to questions that involved you counting and keeping the people straight, also other puzzles that you don’t see in any of the puzzles books now a days. I used to love getting these as a kid in school to do during qquiet time. But now they are geared towards adults and were much more fun. I will buy another verion of this when this publisher comes out with another. Maybe even buy one for my best friend who lives in another state. ... show more

  • Great exercise for one's brain!
Highly recommended for those beginning to have memory issues. Puzzles like these will exercise the brain. Yet, these are fun Puzzles for anyone....some are very easy, while others stretch your thinking processes.

  • Great book!
We just received the book today and my sister who has stage 4 brain cancer has already been working on it. It really is a good book in helping her with her memory.

  • Not very challenging for the average adult
Meh... I ordered this as I like a challenge and this stated it was for adults. Honestly it's very basic and not what I was expecting. Maybe I'm not adult enough ;). I'm retired and like to keep my mind sharp. Thought of returning it, but going to donate it instead. Some might find it a challenge. The print is big so that's a plus. ... show more

  • Great brain exercises.
I got this book for my wife who is struggling with mild cognitive decline. She loves it and is good at it. I have also found it fun and a good source for brain exercises.

  • Great puzzles for my parents in their 90's
My elderly parents (in their 90s) live at home with me, they're mostly independent, they can follow normal daily conversations easily. Their memory and cognitive abilities are in early stage of decline. This book has about 100 puzzles and worksheets to fill in - good variety of challenges which match their cognitive level perfectly .. just hard enough that they need to use most or all of their intellect to complete each puzzle which gives them great satisfaction. They do the puzzles together at the dining room table with my guidance. For most of the puzzles, I ask mom to read the instructions out loud then I explain what to do if they need clarification. I also need to guide them through most puzzles so they know what to do but I don't give them the answers. There are answer pages in the back of the book for each puzzle. When I take them to a restaurant, I take this puzzle book and they work on a word search page while we wait for the food to arrive - so much better than sitting there doing nothing. When your family member finishes the puzzle book, you can write your own puzzles using the same format as the puzzles in the book. Ex: Fill in the blank for famous expressions. "The ____ that broke the camel's back." You can write a list of expressions with one or two blanks in each one. I also bought the book: Decades of 100 Uplifting Short Stories for Seniors. My parents really enjoy reading these simple fictional stories which are written with descriptive details to bring back memories. Ex: "She picked up the phone off the wall hook in the kitchen and dialed her friend's number which she knew by heart." Each story is 1-2 pgs long. The stories are in chronological order from the 1950s to 1990s with 20 stories for each decade. I got two bookmarks, wrote dad's name on one, mom's name on the other, so they can each mark where they finish reading. I plan to buy more puzzle and story books for my parents. So I recommend buying both the story book and the puzzle book. ... show more
