    • Must have bio-defense ventilation system for compatibility
I purchased this for the superior filter capabilities for my 2020 Tesla Model Y - as it says it fits 2020 models. However, that isn't true for all 2020's. You MUST already have the installed bio-defense kit from the factory or DIY'd to use these air filters; It's easy to confirm by opening the Frunk and pulling off the plastic cover near the windshield; if you only see a small air intake port that takes less than 1/4 of the width of the hood then you have an incompatible model. But if you have the larger intake port that spans the entire width of the hood, these should work fine.     • Good filter, fits well
First, for those less mechanically inclined, or unsure about what is what in their car (which the filters can be confusing) -- this is the cabin filter that is installed in the Frunk area of your car (sometimes oddly called the Engine Air Filter); this is not the cabin filter that is mounted near the console inside the cabin of the car. Ultimately, a Model Y needs both. The nice thing about the outer filter is that it is much easier to replace than the inside cabin filter. Pop off the upper covering, unscrew some screws, pull the old filter out and put the new ones in. What may slow down the less mechanical folks is not having the right screwdriver on hand. Unlike most inside cabin filters, this does not include a screwdriver of any sort. Personally, I'm good with that; I throw away too many already. But you may want to pop off that snap-on cover first to make sure you have the right tool. Fit is good. All four parts go in snuggly, and there is no binding or bulging when you're putting the parts back together. Once in, I notice no extra effort from the AC system (something you'll get if it's starving for air), and lacking a scientific study, the air seems properly filtered with no noticeable odors. Unlike the cabin air filters in the Model 3, these are easy to access and replace with simple tools. These filters are rated at HEPA which means they filter out particles above 0.3 microns. Definitely an important replacement in dusty areas. If you are not mechanically inclined, I have found that the Tesla mobile service team will replace filters without you having the purchase the filter from Tesla. My last filter replacement in the Model 3, which is much more complicated, cost only $20 for labor. Purchasing after market filters can be a big savings. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It wasn’t that I had a strong smell as some users have reported, my issue was that my vents lost the power they once had just a two years ago. I’m glad I got these, as you can see in my third image how dirty my old filters were. Installation was simple, and after I was done I realized I could have done it easier if I knew the bottom filter could be removed from the top if I used a small tool to pull them up. I feel the top filters didn’t fit as tight as the original, but they were very close and once installed, there was no air leakage. These did serve the exact purpose I needed, and feel the quality is as good as the original parts. 15 minutes to install. Very happy with this item. ... show more

    • Well made, quality filters.
Well made filter, the only thing is you have to check if your 2020 or earlier model Y uses these filter. Just lift the cover and you'll see a wide panel that houses filters, if your model doesn't have it it will have air intake on the left side of the car and no place to put filters.
