A lot of pasta is tough to cook al dente. Barilla doesn't disappoint. For some reason, the only shells I see around here are Kroger's store brand. We use shells for goulash and for seafood salad. If you have the space to store them, these are cheaper, too.

Got this on a special so took advantage of it. It is a good brand. I first clean it in boil water, through out the dirty/milky water, then cook it in boil water for 10 minutes, throw out the water and then cook it in a sauce pan with the ingredients. This brand cooks well and fast for its thickness. Some brands of this pasta type takes longer to cook. ... show more
