Top Amazon Reviews

  • I actually bought the L shaped desk, and it's 98% perfect.
When I ordered this desk, it had zero (real) reviews. I spent WEEKS looking at it and biting my nails over whether or not I should spend $600 on it. There was one person who'd reviewed it with two stars, saying something irrelevant like "this is too expensive, there are other desks that cost less!" but they hadn't even bought it. :D In, when I first started writing this on November 2, 2023, there were STILL no reviews for THIS desk. All of the reviews on this listing were transferred from other Innovar desks. I actually purchased the 63" L shaped standing desk with risers that you see in the pictures, and I built it. It's a nice desk and very close to what I was looking for, but I have some issues. ASSEMBLY: I built this desk alone. Each piece was clearly labeled, by being placed into a plastic sleeve with the corresponding part number on the plastic bag. So there are no stickers to remove from the desk once its assembled! DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC BAGS UNTIL YOU GET TO THAT STEP, OR YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW WHAT PART YOU HAVE. The instructions say that you should start with the frame upside down, build the desktop, attach it upside down and then flip the whole thing over. I didn't do that. I built the frame upside down, flipped the frame, then put the desktop together, put the desktop on top and then attached everything while it was upright. Though I'm stronger than the average woman and can lift more than most, this is really the only way to do this alone - it would be an incredible challenge to flip the entire desk right-side up on your own. There is a very important step missing in the instructions - at least it isn't clearly spelled out. The written instructions have two pages called "attach the desktop to the frame". The first part of those instructions includes attaching the ends of the frame to the ends of the desktop. The second part goes directly into attaching the components underneath, but there are other holes for screws to attach the desktop that aren't mentioned on either page. In the video, at the 58 second mark it shows those last 8 screws being installed into the desktop. and no screws included to do it. The monitor risers are built using cam locks and dowels. The instructions say to use a drill for both installing the cam bolts and the locks. Only use a drill for the bolts. DO NOT USE A DRILL TO SECURE CAM LOCKS, use a screwdriver. Cam locks are the worst. There were two that would not tighten fully, but it shouldn't matter since it's not a moving part. Instructions have options for building the desk with the long side either on the left or on the right, but it only refers to the options as "Left Shape Build" and "right shape build", with no images indicating which one is which. I tried puzzling it out for a couple of minutes, and then I finally skipped to the final steps of the instructions. If you are sitting at the desk, Right side build has the longer 63" side on your left. Left side build has the longer 63" side on the left. I used the left side build for my desk. It took me about 4 hours to complete the entire desk by myself, using an electric driver and a hex bit on a ratcheting screwdriver. Managing the cords took me about another 30 minutes or so. There were no missing parts, everything fits together perfectly, and the holes are drilled perfectly. The holes for the cam locks are just a hair too small, and the wood wanted to split a little bit when installing those (but it didn't.) BUILD QUALITY: The metal parts of this desk are heavy. They're hollow, but they're not cheap. They feel like a nice, quality steel and there are no scratches, bent parts or imperfections. The holes are drilled perfectly into the wood, and everything lined up beautifully. The grey drawers are flimsy, with PU pulls but they look nice. There are some spots where the finish on the wood doesn't match other pieces, and also some corners that are unfinished. There's a weird "waste of space" where the desk bends. The top shelf is cut off, but the bottom of the desk is not. I didn't notice when I was considering ordering this desk, but it would be nice if the riser was the same shape as the desktop. It would allow more space for hiding my dock and other connectors. The materials are high quality, and no metal parts are going to bend or break. The wood has a matte finish to it. An optical mouse will work on it, but it is not a mouse friendly surface. It feels rough going against the wood and doesn't glide smoothly. You'll need a mouse pad. The wood is about 2cm, or .75" thick. This helps to cut down on weight. I'd love it if it were a bit thicker, but it is sturdy. OPERATION: The motors lift the desk easily. There is no straining or groaning, even under the weight of all of my work and school junk. Pre-sets are easy to use. The operation isn't excessively loud, but also isn't whisper quiet. It is smooth though, with no jarring or sputtering. It also has a great safety feature, so if it notices resistance, it will automatically begin rising again. The arm of my chair was in the way while I was lowering it, and it reversed itself, so I didn't break my chair. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS: The power cord goes in the middle, where the desk bends. This is fine if you plan on having the corner against a wall. I wanted to have the corner facing away from the wall and make a sort of little office cubicle with the desk. While the cord is long enough to reach my power cord, it's dangling in the wind. To get around this, I used Gorilla Tape and attached a surge protector to the bottom of the desk. The surge protector is closer to the wall outlet, and I can route the cord down a leg and still have enough slack to use it in standing mode. And this keeps my cables neater, and not dangling. OVERALL: I like this desk a lot. It's not exactly what I wanted, but it's the closest I could find without building my own. The operation of the motors is smooth, and it has no trouble at all with rasing the weight of three laptop computers, my Epson Workforce EcoTank, three monitors and all of my other random junk. 4.9/5. ... show more

  • Very well-constructed and meticulously designed!!
I don't usually write reviews but this desk too excellent to not leave some praise. It's easy to tell that the materials and construction were very well-built. Everything is stable and sturdy– as it should. The design simply gives me the impression of quality, down to the small details. Even parts that are not usually apparent to the eye, such as under the desk, were given much thought– they also provided zip ties to help with cable management underneath. An option of whether to make it mobile or stationery was given as well, by installing wheels or another round, flat thing. As the image shows, I went with the wheels– just in case I need to move it for cleaning or ease of access to the shelfs on the wall. Assembly was straightforward and simple thanks to the clear instructions, but it does take a bit of time. I had a friend help me out and the entire thing took us nearly 5 hours. We're pretty inexperienced with building things so that might be a factor. I do wish that the corners weren't a sharp 90 degree angle, but a rounded edge instead. Seems kind of susceptible to wear and tear, or bodily injury. I could easily purchase corner guards, but that might affect the aesthetics. I guess time will tell how much of an issue this actually is. Overall, a VERY worthwhile purchase. I was looking for a desk that fits my study area for long-term use, and this fits the bill perfectly. Despite the hefty price tag, I don't regret a single penny. ... show more

  • Strong chemical smell remains after weeks
This desk has a very strong chemical smell right out of the box. I left the wood pieces outside for two days before assembling. I leave the window open in the room that it's in and it's been about a week and the smell is still pretty strong. If off gassing is a concern for you, I would stay away from this desk. Otherwise it's a great value, great desk, easy to assemble. I just wish I didn't give me a sore throat every time I used it. ... show more

  • An amazing product, easy to set up
Size: 63" Bamboo Color: Brown Bamboo
The product is as mentioned in the description. The easiness to set up in the shape that you want is absolutely "for dummies". The functioning is perfect. Support large loads and the speed of changing height is incredible and silent.

  • We like the desk but no way to get a resolution to problems from the company
We bought four of these desks for our office as we switched everyone to standing desks. We really like the desks, they have a nice layout, are sturdy enough, adjustments and programming heights is easy and they look good. Our issue came a few weeks after getting the desks when some of the tops started cracking. Even though it would be a pain to replace the panels we could do that, except the manufacturer has no way to even contact them. We are beyond the Amazon return window (I would hate to return these) so the only thing we have left is to become carpenters and attempt to fix the splitting tops ourselves. You might get lucky as only a few tops are splitting, but be ready to roll the dice. ... show more

  • Best build experience I have ever had
Size: 63" Bamboo Color: Brown Bamboo
I purchased two of these desks... and I am not kidding when I say this was the best build experience of any piece of furniture I have ever had! The box was packed very well and upon receipt I took out all the parts and lined them up by number. I was able to go page by page number by number to logically work my way through the build(s). From a quality perspective it is well beyond the price paid. Very sturdy metal parts with quality welds. While the wood top is thin it looks very nice and will do the job. Desk has been flawless in operation. Tips: Lay the plastic bags used to ship/cover the wooden top on the ground to avoid scratching the wood tops. Lay your wooden tops on top of the plastic to "fuse them together". Then after building the frame flip it on top of the wood work surface and attach the frame to the wooden top. After all screws have been tightened, grab a second hand and flip the desk over. ... show more
