    • Poor Installation Instructions but Works Beautifully, Tall Windows?

Struggled to do an inside mount prob cause window is 15" deep & 60" tall. Add to that, ceiling sheetrock was shallow so had to use anchors. Tried to used the double small screws but blinds would not snap in. Read feedback from other buyers & employed the single oval hole mount instead using a single screw. Used another screw of my own that had a flatter head and employed a plastic anchor for a tighter fit. This finally worked. Once I finally snapped it in (took 5 times using all my strength) it works very well. Installed 2nd same way. Tall windows: I am using a RMS Featherweight 26" Reacher Grabber Stick w/magnetic tip (yellow colored, on Amazon, for about $20). I use the mag tip to pull the shade pull handle down and I use the other side to push it back up. I hang the grabber next to the window. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have a big beautiful window in my kitchen of my gorgeous new house, so I'm picky about what I put in it. With a spending a lot of money on a new build, this was a great solution at a great value. Filters out just enough. Looks quality, yet is also minimalistic enough when fully raised to not detract from my living room curtains. Love the clear handle, because the hole in it allows me to use my telescopic grab rod to easily pull it down (I can't reach the top of this tall window). See my pictures and video. My only complaint is it took three tries to get this... First I was sent a mini blind, and then I was sent a damaged blind, but I returned those with no problem and was finally able to get the shade I wanted. I have moved to a place that's newly developed and it's a 20 minute drive to take Amazon returns from here. Ugh. But overall very happy with the shade. ... show more

    • Nice Blinds, But They Are Not Durable

These blinds look and work great. Until the plastic pieces in the spring-loaded mechanism fail. Then the blinds collapse and can no longer stay up. 2 out of the 3 blinds I bought have failed after 3 years of use. The reason is because of the brittle plastic that is used in the mechanism. This is the 3rd set of these blinds I have purchased. I really like them. They look good, are easy to install, and I have not had any issue with them working for the last couple of years. The most recent time I wanted to install one, I ran into a problem. My window was about 2 inches too big an opening for the size, and 1 inch too small an opening for the next size up. I could either purchase another company or figure out how to cut the blinds to size. I could not find anything detailed on how to do this, so I looked around and pulled together a bunch of information. I wanted to help out anyone else who needs to do this, so attached are pictures of what I did, and I will describe how to do this. Start by measuring how much you want to cut off. I would leave about .25 to .5 inches of space on either side. So you want that little bit extra. In my case, the blind is 1 inch too long, and I added an extra 0.5 inches for each side, so I needed to cut off 2 inches total. You want to do this evenly on both sides of the blind. In my case, I want to remove 1 inch from each side. I removed only the plastic wrap to expose just a little more than the amount of blind I needed to cut. This kept the blind held together as I worked. I removed the end caps from the blinds. With a pencil (no pens to avoid ink bleeding) I marked the line to cut. I slide the metal frame piece down to expose just the blind material. With a sharp straight-edge knife (not a serrated blade) I cut through the blind material. I then moved the frame back into place. I used a band saw, to cut the end of the frame off. This was done separately from the blind material on purpose. The saw produces a lot of heat that can damage the blinds material, or melt it. This is why I only wanted the saw to cut the metal frame. I repeated the same steps for the other side of the blinds. Once cut to size, I place the end caps back on and followed the included instructions to install the blinds. I still had to separate the blinds a little due to the cutting, but it only took a second. I had a little bit of trouble snapping them into the brackets. Once I got them in they work great and look great. Great value for the cost. Durability yet to be determined. I've only been using them for a week or so and so far so good

Good looking Cellular blinds, said easy if they gave the right flat philip screws for the anchor adapter. the round headed screws made it impossible to force to hang on adapter. Luckily i found flat screws and made the installation. How can you sell a shape with the bolts being too fat for the adapter to fit into ... show more
