Description

The versatility of Badger’s Model 150 allows for a broad range of applications, making it the “classic” airbrush in the Badger line. Dual action, internal mix, siphon feed. A choice of three needle/nozzle sizes (fine, medium, large) can be changed to accommodate various paints/mediums. Appreciated by everyone from artists to taxidermists and auto customizers to furniture refinishers. The 150accepts a 3/4 ounce color cup for small volume painting needs, or attachable jars can be used for bigger projects. The Model 150 airbrush sprays properly reduced acrylics, acrylic enamels and lacquers, gouaches, fabric colors, watercolors, inks, dyes, Badger airbrush-ready paints including Air-Opaque, Air-Tex, MODELflex, TotallyTattoo and SpectraTex colors.     • Good airbrush, subpar siphon bottles, good customer service
I haven't been able to airbrush with it yet, but the quality feels nice and heavy. It came with all the right accessories and I wasn't missing anything. However, the larger glass bottle broke when I tried to dislodge the small metal wrench that was stuck in there. It was placed sideways so it got stuck on the inside of the bottle and I had to use a tool to get it out which ended up breaking the bottle... Did some research and these badger brand glass airbrush siphon fed bottles are pretty fragile. I would give it four stars but considering the price point and the price of spare bottles (around $2 on Blick art) I didn't think it was that big of a deal. It would be nice if I could get a replacement for free but that would entail me sending the entire airbrush back just for a $2 bottle UPDATE: Dual action stopped working, and it only started spraying paint. When I switched to the smaller needle, it was working alright, but then it just stopped. The other two needles work, but the fact that the jar broke AND the dual action doesn't function properly AND the smaller needle doesn't spray paint was too much to ignore. I just ordered a replacement. I'll make an update when I receive it. UPDATE: Decided to go with the iwata eclipse HP-CS for my needs, but this airbrush is pretty good. I just got a fluke. They sent me a replacement which I didn't open because I had decided that $50 more for the iwata wasn't a bad price range for me ... show more

I just bought one and love it. I've been using an older version of this airbrush for a long time (37 years!) I love the Internal Mix, Dual Action on this airbrush. Meaning that you can moderate the amount of air pressure AND the amount of paint that comes out of it at the same time. You also get fine, medium and large heads and needles, so you can do fine detail work and larger areas. You can use the stainless steel cups for small projects to fairly large sized paintings or projects. But if you have a mural sized project you can buy small jars that hold a lot of paint. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. And guess what? I sent my 37 year old Badger 150 back to the factory and they are cleaning it and upgrading the seals for free! I'm just paying for the shipping. What a great company to deal with! With any airbrush you just need to be very certain that you have done a good job cleaning it. It's not difficult to clean or to use, but maybe requires a learning curve. I mostly use acrylic water based paints in it, so running lots of water through it after I am finished is a breeze. ... show more

Good price but some issues: - missing paint cup even though it's all photos and descriptions. (Got small refund, but not an available item on Amazon) - For some reason the air hose hits the paint jar cap (as you can see in the photo) - I would avoid this "professional" kit and model. I would have sent it back if shipping wasn't prohibitive. ... show more

I ordered this product based on information in the description stating that the color cup was included, however it's not. I'm disappointed about this. I have not used it yet. I've contacted both Badger Airbrush, and the retailer that sold me this item, but they did not respond. After looking at the airbrush closer, the color jar that was included, did not allow the air hose to attach to the gun, rendering this product useless. I find it hard to believe this was made in the USA, which is printed on the gun itself. I imagine it probably was assembled in the USA, however this product seems poorly engineered and not worth my time to hassel with product support, they did not respond to my query for help. ... show more

    • Quality frustration... Sad.
I was a little frustrated, this was the airbrush I ever wanted, mi satisfactions fell apart wuth the cheap metal Trigger and "Tail" That doesn't look like the Badger I used to know and love.

I bought my first Badger 150 in the early 1980s. I bought another one in the 90s. I got my third a few weeks ago when the first two were spraying erratically and seemed to be worn out. While shopping for the new one I found Badger's website and read that their lifetime warranty includes cleaing and repairs. So I followed the instructions and mailed the two old ones back to the manufacturer. They came back seven days later cleaned, one had a new tip, and they now both work like they were new. Total charge: $0.00. I thought manufacturers no longer stood behind their products. I was wrong, at least where Badger is concerned. ... show more
