I was surprisingly impressed with this back brace. I normally prefer a very strong and heavily stayed brace for my back support. This brace offers more moderate support with flexible stays and a pressure point lumbar pad (removeable). Despite my skepticism, this brace delivers a nicely comfortable support experience. I wore it for hours (including times where I was sitting and relaxing). I found that it delivered a more gentle feeling than my "wrap 'em up and hold 'em tight" braces. But, despite the gentle hold, it was still delivering a definite feeling of support and stability. I preferred removing the lumbar pad (easy to do with a quick velcro type hold). It didn't provide any positive benefit for my purposes, but it might be something some people find helpful. I always like the elastic side adjustability which permits the user to find as much compression as they are seeking. This brace offers that and delivers with a solid and secure hold. I know I'll be keeping this in my back brace arsenal for use at those times when I need a little extra hold but and not looking for total encasement. This is a solid 5 star item. ... show more

While I inadvertently ordered the wrong size, this belt still fit great. The breathable material has considerable elasticity, and with the 3 Velcro attachment belts I was really able to get a great custom fit. There is one main belt that attaches in the front, and two side belts (one on each side) to really dial in the fit. This brace has a removeable lumbar pad that attaches as desired using a vertical Velcro strip sewn on to the brace. It also has 5 sewn-in metal support bars in the back of the brace. It is also nice and tall (about 8.5” top to bottom) in the back to enhance the support. This belt is thin enough to wear (mostly) hidden under clothing depending what you are wearing. Of the many back braces I have tried and reviewed, this rates with the best in this category. ... show more

* Overall Impression: -This is a good value for a very comfortable, supportive, good quality lumbar back brace with a uniquely shaped, removable inner support pad that feels very good and supportive on the lower back. -I would easily say it’s the most comfortable lower back brace I’ve ever used, due to the unique, supportive, padded inner pad for the lower back. It’s unlike any other brace I’ve ever used due to this pad. -However, do note it runs small, as I'll describe below. I'd highly suggest considering ordering a size larger than you think you need to. Be sure and measure as directed and compare your measurement to the size chart. * Pros-what I liked and what worked well: -Good value for the unique style, good quality and comfort. -Very comfortable to wear, supportive on the lower back. I'd say it's the most comfortable lumbar, lower back brace I've ever used, due to the unique inner support pad. -Has a unique inner lower back support, in a shield like shape with areas to support around the lower back and spine. It's not hard plastic, but padded and not to hard next to the spine and back. It's removable (Velcro) and faces the spine and back on the inside of the brace. The pictures may look like it's on the outside, it's not, it's on the inside. I've never used a brace with this style of support before, and I really like it. It feels like I have my lower back in a supportive chair or with a supportive cushion vs just a brace. It has the benefit, feel and support of a regular brace, but with this added. It may not be something everyone enjoys, but I really do. I have a "sway back" (lumbar lordosis) and scoliosis (more thoracic than lumbar) and it's really hard to find a brace that feels this good, I'd easily say it's the most comfortable lumbar brace I've ever used, due to the inner pad. -Can use the brace with or without the inner lower back support pad, it’s removable (Velcro attachment). -Highly adjustable fit (if you order the right size, I'd suggest ordering a size larger than you think you need to as I'll describe below). -Velcro closure. -2 side (one on each side) Velcro closure adjustable compressive straps to adjust the fit, compression and support. -Lightweight, even with the inner pad it's not heavy to wear. (Some may find the lower back support pad a touch bulky, I did not, but I can see how some may, as it sticks out a little from the back of the brace.) -Breathable material. It's not a solid neoprene brace but is made of a ventilated compression mesh material. -Material is not too rough or scratchy on the skin and is good quality and durable. -Has multiple vertical metal support stays built in with some padding around them. Note they are not removable and cannot be removed. -Good quality in the materials, construction, style. Well finished in the stitching and edges. -Has minimal, almost no odor and it goes away very quickly when airing out the brace. * Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well: -Runs smaller than expected. I'll describe more below. But I'd highly suggest ordering a size larger than you think you need to based on the chart sizes in the listing pictures. -No instructions included. You'll want to refer to, print or save the listing and listing pictures for help with fitting it, putting it on and adjusting it. -The brand name and logo is visible on the brace as shown in the listing pictures, it's not a plain brace. * Tips & Thoughts: -Be sure and measure your waist, abdomen (below the waist) and lower back area (not on the hips, that's too low) over your clothing (if worn over clothing) and refer to the size chart in the listing. -I would say it runs smaller and tighter than expected. I have a 29 inch waist (waist not abdomen), and with jeans and clothing on, it's closer to 30 inches. I ordered a medium which is rated to fit a 31 inch waist to 35.4 inch waist. It just barely fits me and and is a little tight. I can wear it but I'd have preferred a little more length to it and the ability to wear it a little looser if I wanted or needed to. The medium wouldn't easily fit anyone about 30 inches, much less up to 35.4 inches as the size charts state. I'd suggest ordering a size up, it's easier to fit a larger one a bit tighter than to deal with one that is too small. -Note it's not an SI belt, brace or support, it doesn't go that low, and the size is meant for the waist and lower back measurements not the hip measurement. If you needed to or wanted to you could easily wear an SI belt or brace below it and a thoracic (as it's only a lumber support brace) brace above it if needed. -When you put it on, attach the main larger Velcro strap first. Then adjust the two Velcro (one on each side) straps for more support, tension and fit. You may not need, want or be comfortable with an equal amount of support on each side. So adjust each side as needed, tighter or looser. It's highly adjustable. ... show more

    • Easy fix for posture

I don't really have back problems yet, although I'm sure they are right around the corner. I got this because I want to improve my posture, I work at home and often stop to realize I slumped over my desk like a troll. I strap this on and instantly feel supported, an easy reminder to keep myself upright. I appreciate the adjustability around the sides, and the firm grip of the velcro. I didn't find the lumbar pad particularly useful, for me it's a bonus that it's removable. A little bulky if you're wearing anything close to form fitting clothing, but for at home use or under anything thicker than a tshirt you wouldn't notice at all. Sitting at my desk all day, I tend to slouch. This has helped me avoid slouching and keeps me in an upright position. Since I've been wearing this, my back has felt better, and less stretching when standing up. I measured it as the picture in the description, and it fits perfectly. The Velcro sticks strong and does not pull out when tearing off, so this should last a long time. Five plastic stays are sewn in place and can not be removed or replaced. You also have the 3D-molded lumbar support pad. The pad is firm but feels good. Im not used to wearing braces, but this one helps and I can tell when I take it off just how much it helps. ... show more

What a relief for me, I like this belt although I wish I bought XL instead of XXL but still works great. Ability to increase or decrease the belt tension is the best thing and the pad works, it does provide the stability and the pressure I was looking for.
