This is a unique Baby Gym Play Mat. It is unique because it is also a lounger. I had two babies in residence to test this play mat. Due to age differences they both played with it in different ways. My baby nephew is staying with me while his mother recuperates. He enjoyed looking at the dangling toys and just resting in the lounger. This lounger does have a high bolster cushion all the way around, so I would never leave baby alone. If he rolled over he could suffocate in this bolster cushion as tall as it is. My baby girl was able to sit up in the lounger and grab on to the toys. She also sat, and looked at the book for a while. She really loved the mirror. This was the first time she saw herself in a toy mirror and she cooed and smiled. All of the play mat and materials seem high quality. It is easy to assemble. Once fully assembled, it folds up quickly to take to grandma’s house. The mat is cushioned, and if it is used on carpet it has enough softness and support. If it is used on a hard floor, I might put a couple of towels or a blanket under the lounger for comfort. I did remove the lounger cover to test washing it. It was laundered on gentle cycle in cool water. I hung it up to dry. It did not have any loose threads, pilling, or fading after washing. This is a well made lounger and has the added benefit of being a gym mat that will keep babies entertained for extended periods of time. ... show more

I ordered this baby gym play mat for my grandson who is due in a few months. It is a nice baby shower gift for any expectant parent. The mat that the baby lays on is lightly padded to offer a bit of comfort on hard floors. A pillow is included which can be used for tummy time. The pillow that came with my play mat had defective stitching (photo uploaded). This play mat is also a lounger. It has a large padded bolster that surrounds the baby. IT IS NOT SAFE FOR A BABY TO SLEEP IN DUE TO RISK OF SUFFOCATION. NEVER LEAVE BABY UNSUPERVISED WITH THIS PLAY MAT. Sorry for the all caps but that is important information. This play mat doesn’t come with instructions so some parents may not be aware that it can pose a suffocation risk if the baby rolls and buries their face in the bolster. The color scheme is mainly light pastel colors. Newborns do better with high contrast colors like black and white. The fabric book has 4 pages that are high contrast colors but everything else is pastel. I had a very hard time figuring out how to insert the bolster. I’ll give you a hint to reduce frustration on your part. Locate the handle on the right side of the play mat (not the top handle). Now look directly across to the opposite side of the play mat. The tiny zipper is there on the left side between the white material and the blue material. The arches can install either on the backside of the play mat or on the inside between the padded surface they ksy on and the bolsters. I feel like the inside placement is much safer. In that position the bolsters don’t pose as much of a suffocation risk because they lay flat to the floor. When the arches are installed on the backside of the play mat it positions the bolster vertically with much higher sides. Tying the bottom closed compounds the issue. Photos of all three scenarios have been uploaded to provide a visual. I’m willing to give this play mat 4 stars but only if the arches are installed on the front. With the arches installed on the back, I would lower the rating out of fear of suffocation. ... show more

When I opened it, I found that the circular padding was packaged separately than the mat fabric. There wasn’t any set up instructions, but it was pretty easy to figure out. Quality seems good. The little hanging animals aren't the highest quality, just not very intricate, but they are functional and cute enough. The bumper pad piece does come out, by using a zipper, and that will make cleaning easier when needed. ... show more

What a good shower gift. This Baby Lounger Nest with a 7-in-1 Tummy Time Activity Mat will be greatly appreciated as an item that will be used for a year or so as the baby develops. The fabric is cotton or a cotton blend, and the bolster has a Polyester fill. However, I don't know what the water-resistant bolster cover composition is other than that it can be wiped down to keep it clean. Good luck finding the hidden zipper with the tiny zipper pull to install the bolster. It's designed to prevent injury to your baby. This is a cute and comfy play mat for babies. It has the option to convert to a lounger, but I would personally we wary of that with babies that get the most use out of this. Typically babies who use a toy like this aren't super mobile and could struggle moving into the overly padded sides .
