I ordered these balls because I thought that they were a safer alternative to more toxic plastic toys that are made in China. It seems that these balls are still made out of plastic, and my little one is always putting them in her mouth, which is a concern for us. In addition, I had to give two of the balls to my dog since they were hollow. There's no safe way to clean them without getting water trapped inside- which causes a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. For your amusement, when I saw this in Vine I thought they were cat toys. The title nor company name gives me any clue it's a baby toy, and since I thought I knew what they were, I didn't look at the listing page itself. When they arrived, I was like these are huge, my cat's not going to touch them, but I bet the dogs will. Pulled up the listing page, and ... That'll teach me ;) So, change of plans. The cats might not like these, but as it turns out, the babies do. 8 mo old twins, and all four of these toys is a hit. We haven't quite mastered the glowy one yet, but we'll get it. They're interested enough. The teether one is actually fantastic. The body of it is a softer, squeezable type, very grip-able, while the "spikes" are quite firm. Enough to serve its purpose of helping the tooth break through, but not totally hard. I really like that. I like that each has a unique texture and/or surface, too. Just really happy with these, now that I know what they are heh. The Battat Ball set includes four different balls; each one unique and perfect for your little one to play with. Our little lens’s favorite is the Holey ball. She is able to grab the ball and easily shake it to make the inner ball rattle! Her second favorite is the Spikey ball, it’s perfect for those days she’s teething. She loves to grab it by a spike and chew on another side. The other two balls are great to play with, but she prefers to play with them with her daddy. The Bumpy one gets her excited with its lights that light up when daddy bounces it or grabs it. She also loves the Squeeky one, especially when daddy bounces and squeeks it! Our favorite part of these balls is that they work perfectly when she was 6 months old and still lots of fun when she turns one! A great set of four balls that are perfect for both girls and boys!     • Meets the growing developmental needs of your child
This set comes with four balls that will meet the varying developmental needs of your baby/child depending on their age. The balls are recommended for ages 6 months to 3 years. I have a 3-month-old who is already loving these balls as well as an almost 3-year-old who loves them as well! The spiky ball is great for those tiny baby hands to grab onto when they are just beginning to reach out and grab. The fact that it does not roll is also nice for baby tummy time play when they are not yet mobile. So far my baby’s favorite ball is the hollow ball with holes and a ball inside that jingles. She loves sticking her fingers through the holes and holding onto it that way. Also as a parent I appreciate that the jingle sound of the ball is a pleasant sound and not too tingy and high pitched. The wavy bar that goes around the diameter of the ball also moves, which I can see being entertaining for my baby when she’s older. The other two balls are ones that my almost 3-year-old is more interested in. The bumpy light up ball is his favorite. It lights up when it is bumped or tossed around. We discovered that the different colors of lights are a LOT more visible if played with in the dark. In the light I could tell it lit up but didn’t realize how many different colors it cycles through (six colors all fading into the next). I wish you could see them just as well in the light, as my baby doesn’t play with toys in the dark. It did make a fun game with my toddler though, rolling the glowing ball to each other in the dark. The last ball has swirly ridges and squeaks when you squeeze it. It is satisfying to hold and toss, but is a bit hard, in my opinion. (I’m just thinking about my toddler trying to play catch with it and someone or something getting hurt.) Overall this is a great set of balls that will grow with your child and their developmental level. As other reviewers have mentioned, I do wonder about whether or not they are BPA free as I did not find anywhere on the packaging or description that says so.
