I was a little worried about the fit and finish and how much this would get in the way where it’s located. After installing this on my 2013 Mercedes G63 I am very happy with how it functions and looks! Does not get in the way at all and again very sturdy. Looks like it could be factory which was important to me! Like it so much I will be purchasing another one for the passenger side. If you have a G you know how bad the factory net “cup holder” is especially if you have a passenger it just gets in the way. If you own a W463 G Class, you know the problem with the lack of convenient cup holders. This item solves the problem brilliantly. Very well designed and high quality part. It's super easy to install. They fit snug without any gaps or jiggle. Does not interfere with the function of the vent. Feels like an OEM part. Looks like it belongs there. I ordered one for each side and was able to install them in minutes right out of the box. I'm very happy with the way they look, feel, and function. Highly recommended! A++ ... show more

    • Some great cup holders with a few caveats
bought two to match my carbon fiber interior and the tops and "fake bottoms" look okay, not a perfect match as they say, but they pass. As for $160 per cup holder or more - I guess that depends how often you put a drink in your car. Sturdiness: 9/10 Looks: 8/10 - Even got compliments from a passenger on ease of use Wind Resistance: 10/10 - they look like they will not work with windows down, but at 80 mph, going for 2 hours, not a hint of fade in holding the drinks Depth: 5/10 - due to the need for the door to close, these suffer from depth. Dunkin Donuts are worse than Starbucks, styrofoam cups really struggle to fit deep. So because of their need to Clear the door height, the depth is less than desirable but 95% of the time it is a non-issue. I mention it only because of the styrofoam cup issue. Spill Worry: 1/10 - No real need to worry. Even at a ABS brake stop, no budging of the drinks. Impressive Installation: 4/10 - While the first one goes in much longer, the glue that holds the base bracket is weak. This is both good and bad because you can remove them without too much damage or residue. On the flip side, if you are not careful you can drop a screw into your VENT! Yikes. Use a magnetic screw driver or put some tape/cardboard behind the holder as you install it. Once you get the hang of it, the second one literally takes 2-3 minutes. You have to hold the bottom bracket about 90 seconds for it to adhere. My first one was a little weak but the top bracket is extremely secure. Very ingenious design imo and looks stock to most people. ... show more

The cupholder itself is great. It’s built pretty sturdy and when installed it will hold a large drink with no problems. Just be very careful… The installation instructions recommend you clean the vent with rubbing alcohol before the installation of an adhesive pad. That holds the base to the vent. when I did this it removed some of the paint on the vent itself. Not very happy about that. Also can’t even imagine what’s gonna happen if I ever have to remove the adhesive from the vent in the future. I would either skip the alcohol completely or just barely swipe it to avoid ruining the paint on the vent panel. Again the cup holder is great but 3 stars for ruining the paint on my vent ... show more

    • Yes, this is one crazy expensive cup holder...
...but well worth it. I don’t write too many reviews, but the reviews for this particular item were helpful when I was considering buying, so I decided to join in. I bought my wife a really nice, used G55 we have always lusted over. And she loves this vehicle, except the lack of storage/cup holders! So I bought two of these and they are great. Super easy to install and are terrifically engendered. You won’t be sorry! ... show more

Assembled in a few minutes. Looks good works good and that’s all I could ask for. Slightly tight fitting and larger cups won’t fit but that’s typical of any European cup holder so it plays the roll well haha. Would buy again for 2016 Mercedes Benz g550.

Very easy and quick assembly, clear instructions - within 15 min. both driver and passenger sides successfully installed. Perfect manufacturing quality, aligning, detailing and materials. Everything set on the right place and the chrome line in the unified style of M-B chrome packet on top of that. Absolutely another level compare the original M-B "basket" (which is one-cup only). Little bit pricey, of course, but what in the G-Class segment is not? For me value added investment anyway. ... show more
