  • Damaged
This insect house is very basic with a simple design. That’s ok with me because it’s still functional. It doesn’t have a hook or anything on it to hang the house up. It really needs something. I don’t like the idea of having to lean the house against something because it can fall over. I have received two damaged insect houses. The corner of the roof was broken on the first one I ordered. I sent it back and got a replacement. The replacement arrived damaged as well. The wire was broken in two places and bent inward. The houses are shipped inside of bags that offers very little protection from damage. They really need to be shipped in boxes. It’s really disappointing having received two damaged units. ... show more

  • Good Variety "bug hotel", no very durable however
This little "insect" hotel has a good variety of holes and spaces for your garden/lawn pollinators to shack up in. Looks very cute and I had a lot of mason bees that used the tubes. Please also read up on how to clean your tubes post season However the tubes themselves are very thin and mine began falling apart after the 1st season in use. Also, be warned this house spreads wood chips/shavings/dust everywhere when you receieve it. ... show more

  • my bugs don't seem to have caught on yet
This is a super cute little hotel for bugs. There's not a hook or any way to tie it down so I drilled a hole through the back and stuck it on a nail. It's lightweight, and was ready to use out of the packaging. Not sure if it's the cooler weather but it's been outside for a couple of weeks and still no signs of bugs. It's not far from some fruit trees so maybe the birds are just quicker. ... show more

  • Ornamental House
This is a small, cute butterfly/bug house but not very practical. it's super shallow maybe an inch thick and most proper bug houses I've used have been at least 3 inches deep. There's also no way to hang it, I ended up driving a screw through the back to attach it to my shed. The wood is soft and a bit flimsy, I don't expect this to last more than a season outside. If you are looking or an ornamental bee and bug house this is fine, but it's not practical and not the best for someone who actually wants this to be used by insects and butterflies. ... show more

  • Does the job pretty well
So this is a decently made insect house, if only it actually attracted something aside from earwigs. They tend to bully everything else out and just take over no matter where I put it, so I've given up trying for now. It's getting too cold anyway. Overall well made, with plenty of little nooks and crannies for the critters to get into. I'm chafed that only those little monsters live in it, but it's good for your purposes if you're looking for a decently sized house to keep (hopefully) other beneficial insects protected and cosy. ... show more

  • Mine Is Moldy
Sadly , mine doesn’t look like the pictures shown. I’m not sure if it’s ok to use for bugs, because it has mold all over it. I was really excited to get this bug house for my garden, to help encourage the good bugs, and give them a little home. The house itself is well built and has three compartments to it. I would have given it 5 stars, but because I don’t know if it safe to use, I’m giving it 3 stars. ... show more

  • I love this!
I had always wanted to get one of these. Providing a habitat for beneficial insects and pollinators to create nests is great. I like the fact that other than a few finishing staples and a bit of metal mesh to hold some pieces in, everything else is made out of renewable materials. I didn’t see a bit of plastic on there. With multiple areas for various types of insects, this will be a great place for them to overwinter. While I wish that it came with a loop or hanger on the back, a bit of thick jute twine and a couple construction staples helped to make a hanger, and a screw will hold it secure to either a fence post or wall. I’m looking forward to seeing how this gets occupied in the coming few seasons. PROS 99%+ wood/biodegradable material Nice style, looks good Decent size (200+ cavities!) for a starter insect house CONS No mounting hanger Some of the smaller cavities were crushed I can’t wait to get some bugs in there. It needs to be in the morning sun and out of the rain, so it might have to be sheltered in my front entry. If I can attract enough friendly bugs, I’m hoping I’ll get a great yield on plants in my garden next year. ... show more

  • Nice little bug motel
This is a cute little bug motel. I'm a bug and critter lover, so I wanted something to offer in the garden especially during the rain and wind. Unfortunately mine arrived broken, but it's not that big of a deal for an item going outside, but something to note that since it has no box when shipped. So far, the bumble bees love this house, although I'm not sure how they squeeze in and out, but they do! I've also seen a few cutie little spiders take residence in the tubes, and a few lizards enjoy the shelter too. Since it's made of raw materials that aren't sealed, I'm not yet sure of the longevity of this item since it's exposed to the elements 24/7. So far, it's been holding up after several weeks. For the price, this is a good value and a benefit to your garden. ... show more
