  • Install takes thought
We had a fence with several “leaning post” with one main culprit. I was hoping to fix it with one repair kit but Wrong thinking on my part. This will take several kits to address this issue. The product is made well and does the job, but it will also change the looks of your fence, depending on required placement . There is a price point for the repair job where it will be cheaper to put all new post in, so take that into consideration first. I took 1 Star for “easy install” which this is not. I hope this information helps someone before making the plunge. I still recommend this product for the ones that this fits your needs. ... show more

  • Holds up post sturdily
Residing in the Pacific Northwest, where high winds are a common occurrence, often leads to sections of our fences collapsing. In my quest to find a solution, I came across this product. The included one-page instruction manual appeared to be sufficient. The package contained 7 self-tapping screws and 4 bolts accompanied by washers. Regrettably, the drill adapter provided did not fit the dimensions of the shorter bolts. Other bolt adapters I possessed failed to fit. Consequently, resorting to hand-tightening the bolts using a wrench became the sole viable approach. Upon the initial attempt, I encountered difficulty in aligning the top and bottom components. To overcome this, I employed a 4x4 block of wood as a makeshift prop, aiding me in joining the pieces together forcefully. Together, the assembly seems solid. I could not drive the stakes further into the ground as it was obstructed by the underlying concrete base. ... show more

  • Assemble required
I am not sure why the designer of this post repair chose to make it in two parts. My only guess would be so it could ship easier. The bottom two 'legs' that go into the ground are one piece while the part that screws into the post is another piece. The are held together by three bolts. This is also right were you are expected to hammer the post repair into the ground. Other than the strange design choice the product is great. The metal of the product is very thick. The two 'legs' instead of one on other products make it more stable. ... show more

  • Will it hold?
This is definitely sturdy. It is heavy, solid metal. We attached it to a fence support post that was leaning (I don’t think this one was properly sunk into cement). We pushed the post back as best as we could while pounding the bracket into the ground. I’m not sure if it is actually helping it not. Because the bracket is also just stuck into the ground, I’m really not sure if this is going to help prevent the leaning post from getting worse or not. The product is well made, that is why I still gave it 4 stars. ... show more

  • Jury is still out, used on wood fence
Installed behind a post that was leaning on my 6 foot wood privacy fence. All the description copy shows are vinyl fences so I am still wondering just how long these will hold up. One thing to note, the provided scrfews are really for vinyl posts as they are self drilling and fine threaded. It is not the kind of screw you would use on a wood post. Installed and replaced the screws with proper wood lag bolts and initially it is holding the post sturdy and straight. We shall see how well they survive the winter. ... show more

  • As advertised
I found this brace to be easy to install and very well made. As you can see from my photo, I had to put a spacer between the brace and the post. That was my fault, not the products. I drove the brace in crooked and was too lazy to pull it out and start over. However, a simple spacer and the screws provided were plenty enough to hold the post firmly. This should prove that installation is just not that hard, at all. Also, you can see another pole attached to the problem post. This is holding one corner of a sun shade. The brace seems to be holding both very firmly in very sandy soil. The brace itself is quite wide, about half the surface of the post itself. The provides for a very stable surface to attach the post to and effectively eliminates wobble. Overall, this is a very useable product. It is intended for a very specific purpose. This brace does work very well in supporting a failing wood post, but it does cost more than simply replacing the post yourself. ... show more

  • Repair That Leaning Fence
If you are looking for a good solution for your neighbor's leaning fence, look no farther. This kit is made up of a two piece steel fork and paddle that connect. The wide stance of the forked steel part needs to be pounded into the ground, and the paddle part needs to be connected to a 2x4 (not included. Once the steel fork is firmly in the ground, the 2x4 can be placed behind the paddle and long deck screws (short ones are included) connect the paddle portion of the repair kit to the 2x4 and through to the post of the fence that is leaning. I was skeptical of this solution, but it does work. The pic above is evidence of that. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
I had a couple of boards from my fence that had broken off, so instead of buying brand bew boards to replace them I wanted to give this a try. This did exactly what I expected and intended for it to do. I don't have alot of resources when it comes to repair, so anything I can do to repair myself gets a thumbs up from me. It's very easy to use with minimal instructions. ... show more
