The product seems to work just fine as a raincoat which is what I bought it for. My only complaint is that I am a very teeny tiny person and in the United States even an extra small is usually much too big on me. This was a small based on the advice that Amazon gives you according to what they understand the manufacturer is producing, and it fits, but just barely. It’s a good thing I’m not trying to wear it in winter over heavy clothes. Wouldn’t fit at all then. I ordered this for myself and a different brand for my husband for a trip to Alaska and they are almost identical in cut, color and sizing, though the women's fabric seems a bit more durable. The photo is misleading, this is not cinched at the waist at all and wears like a man's coat. I am ok with that as we will be layering underneath. The material and construction was excellent. The size M was generous. The drawstring cord material was sparse and the tabs that were supposed to cover the knots in the cord were cheap and too small to cover. I removed and replaced the cords and ditched the covers.

The jacket itself is nice but women’s jackets that have a zipper have the pull tab on the left hand side. This jacket is backward for a woman and is made like man’s zipper. Ironically, my husband bought a Madhero Mens Jacket and his zipper is installed like a woman’s.

Not sure why folks said to get this so much bigger than the size chart states but I believed them and got an XL instead of a M and it is 8 inches too big everywhere including the hips. I'm also a shorty at 5'3" and it is a good length for me...the hem is just at the top of my thighs or base of my bum. Hope this helps you all. Love that this jacket is packable and comes with it's own pouch. Really helps with the wind and the hood is especially nice too. Used it in light rain situations and it kept me dry. I'm an elementary school teacher and a Boy Scout mom, when I am going out in the rain I usually have a sling bag too. A few days ago my grade level was walking (in the rain) to the park. I could still wear my sling bag with the first aid kit in it on under this rain jacket and zip it up. I didn't size up either, I'm a M/L and bought a M jacket. The jacket was comfortable to wear, had great mobility in it and I didn't feel like I was wearing a rain coat at all. 100% would recommend if you are active.
