The setup was easy. It worked exactly as expected without even reading the manual. The picture quality is good. Big bonus! ... It has a built-in, easy to use lens cover. You just slide the lens cover left/right to open/close it. Super easy and really useful. And you can't lose it!!

    • The bad reviews are wrong
I'm a 25 year IT professional and only use/recommend products that I am satisfied and confident with. This camera quality is exactly what I expected from a good FHD webcam, comparable to a similar Logitech. The bad reviews I'm finding here on Amazon I must assume are from users who are NOT technically savvy and do not understand their own computer equipment and requirements. I'm guessing they have very old computers (especially the Mac users) with low end cpus and maybe even using old USB 1.1 ports which would impair proper function. I purchased this at Costco a few months ago to support at home work. Camera is awful. Quality looks like something from someone's old hand-held betamax camera. Sometimes the camera doesn't connect to basic video conferencing software like Zoom or GotoMeeting. If you want to use some sort of custom video conferencing software (e.g. some doctor's office's use custom software for privacy), forget trying to use this camera. It won't connect. The specifications on the product packaging are misleading because it says it supports a Mac - but when you go to install the software, you find out that you can only use the CamEngine Lite version for the Mac (not the full version as you would for a PC). Wouldn't recommend for anyone with a Mac. ... show more

I like this camera and honestly don't understand where the negative reviews are coming from. Maybe some are faulty or malfunction, but mine works great. Plug and play. On my Asus Laptop i have a built in 720p camera and I have asked people on Zoom which is better (Avermedia or built-in) and they all say the Avermedia is better. I look at recorded meetings with me and am happy with the quality too. ... show more
