The Bad: Zero down road beam in 2010 R56 Mini Cooper S fogs The Good: Build quality is impressive, brightness is good and color is perfect. Overall: I want to love these bulbs but there is no down road beam. They are a weak flood beam at best. They look good but provide no actual beam on the road. These are horrible lights, the color looks great but the beam strength is so poor 👎 barely puts any light out on the road from both a projector housing and stock reflector. The cheapest Sylvania 9.99 halogen far out shine these on the road. It’s too bad too because the color exactly matches my headlights. Look elsewhere and maybe even stay clear of LEDs unless big name brand. The issue is the placement and output of these LEDs in the array are all wrong. ... show more

I am sorry I waited this long to replace the OEM fog light bulbs on my 2012 Ram 1500 with these. The brightness is so very noticeable when traveling along the poorly marked streets in this town. The biggest advantage is during dusk when most fog lights are less than useless. These illuminated the areas perfectly. The light appears to extend out approximately 50+ feet further to the front and 20+feet to the sides than the OEM fog lights. This makes a world of difference when navigating poorly lit areas with hidden barriers or items that can damage the vehicle. Do not hesitate to purchase these. Definitely would put these on another vehicle that was not equipped with LED bulbs. ... show more

I don't know how these got such good reviews. When I replaced all the halogens in my truck, I ended up with auxlights for one of the locations and they were ok. When I decided to get some more light on the trail with my side by side I figured I'd try these. The photos show the story. Left side is these auxlights in H3 and H7 in a reflector and projector housing. I stood in front of the SxS between the lights to keep them from 'bleeding' from one side to the other. ... because they do not focus at the same spot as a "real" H1 bulb. Since the light pattern emanating from the luminary is so diffuse due to being offset from the focal point of the housing I can't really see using this in a vehicle. The mounting flange should be in the groove noted in the image, but it is not. One bulb failed after less than an hour of operation. It was due to a bad solder joint between the (-) lead and the diecast metal body, which sinks a lot of heat (which it is supposed to), so it is hard to get a good wetted joint. ------------------- I was initially disappointed that the H3 only has 6 LED chips per side, whereas the H1 has 18. However, the H3 (3570 LEDs) gets much brighter with lower voltage. Both consume the same power at 12 volts, but installed, the H3 is brighter than the H1. The H3 required a bit of dremelling of the notch to get it to fit the socket, and since the terminal on the power wire is not insulated, I felt obliged to wrap it in electrical tape to prevent it from shorting on the housing. The 360 degree illumination feature presumably refers to the fact that the H3 body freely rotates in the flange. I'm not sure what effect this will have on heat dissipation going forward. ... show more
