I have a 3rd gen Mazda RX-7, infamous for its rats’ nest of vacuum lines. One of the lines was knocked loose and this product helped me find it within 60 seconds of pushing smoke into the boost pressure gauge port—it could not have been more obvious. It left a not-so-lovely smell hanging around for a while, a small price to pay for the quick diagnosis. I used the version with the motor included, it was quiet and effective. Good entry level smoke maker. Used it for an exhaust leak and a fuel evap system leak. Unit saves so much troubleshooting time, it’s w good value for the weekend mechanic. The blower fan seems a little delicate and hopefully lasts.

I thought it wasn't going to work properly, since i tried on my daughter vehicle change the Gas Cap that was the only place a noticed smoke coming out, need to work on it once again. I was looking for the Air line connection and realized it had a built in compressor that was even better!!!! worked on my jeep and was able to find that small emission leak code. Overall!!! Good product. At first I ran into some problems with the power cable. I contacted the company and they replied very fast, very polite and very helpful. They offered to send me a new power cable, an extra smoke fluid bottle, no cost!!! Everything working perfectly now. Highly recommend!!

The media could not be loaded. When I received the product the items inside were boxed very neatly and professionally. The item appeared very sturdy and well built and nothing was missing from the packaging. Based on 1-2 star reviews I wanted to check inside the canister and look at the coil and wick to make sure it was not broken. Everything was in tact and I followed the instruction manual. I did what the instructions said and proceeded to heat the canister up. Once 3-4 minutes passed I turned on the pump, almost instantly the smoke started to rush out. I made sure to purchase the additional adapters for the larger hoses and intake hoses. The canister pumped and pumped and pumped, no issues and when I removed the hose to make sure the smoke was still flowing I could clearly hear the pressure the pump was making inside of the engine and functioning as should. I was very surprised at how well this pumped worked for the 20-30 minutes I used it for to diagnose my car. The smoke does have a smell that lingers not sure if that just how they all are, but nothing major (I was outside). Over all I was impressed and happy with my purchase. ... show more
