I got this door to cover my cat door allowing for automated night closing and day opening to keep the raccoons and possums from walking in uninvited after dark. I haven't worked out mounting it yet but set it up and let it open and close itself for a couple days on solar power and by remote function. It works nice, however it needs to stay mounted vertically because the closing function is gravity assisted while the opening function actually uses the motor. You can set it up to open and close at specific times or use 'solar mode' which isn't defined anywhere but seems to be open at sunrise and close at sunset. Having a couple dozen chickens, it is a bit of a time-consuming job caring for them. And one thing that can ease that time and attention is having this automatic chicken coop door. It was really easy to install and it functions perfectly. I love the fact that it is solar powered, so there’s no worries about any batteries draining or dying. It was really easy to program with the very straightforward instructions and it’s also nice that it does have a remote so that I can also open it or close it manually.
