  • Working as it should without a hitch so far
We mounted it to the inside of a snap-lock coop. Works great. Reliable. Inexpensive. Do not need display.

  • Works as should not as strong as I thought
Door was easy to install and not too loud when working! Simply operation open/close, even on semi cloudy days seems to charge enough. I am a bit concerned that animals would be able to get in. If they do I will update review.

  • It works …
We have Recently taken a trip onto the wild side and have added chickens to our family. I do not like mornings, so this was an excellent gift that I could put the door on the timer or use the remote and open it from the kitchen without having to struggle outside with the sunrise. Chickens wake up too early. And every rodent and Hunter once in your coop. Keep that in mind if you decide to go with chickens, we already have gone from 6 to 4, but that is not the fault of the door. If you are just getting involved with poultry, make sure you understand all the problems you may run into before you take the leap. But if you decide to do it, you definitely want it door like this for your coop. ... show more

  • A good solar powered coop door but has limited features
The media could not be loaded. Due to the weather my chicken coop building project has been delayed but I wanted to test out the features of the CHAMUTY automatic chicken coop door. I built a temporary harness to hang the coop door and was able to test out all the features. It is a well built coop door and the body is made of aluminum. It comes with a very simple remote that is not very powerful and I had to come within 2 feet of the receiver for it to activate the door. the buttons on the remote say ON and OFF and I figured out ON means open and Off means close. The control box/receiver has a solar cell on the top which charges an internal battery. There is also a female port that accepts a barrel connector to charge using an external power supply. The instructions are clear on how to program the control box. Basically if you want the automatic opening and closing at a fixed time, you would set it once and it would continue to open and close at that time everyday until you change it. It does not change for Daylight savings changes and you will have to take care of that every time there is a change Since the remote has limited range, I guess the only other option is to manually open and close it using the control box buttons. Luckily the solar control box to the door cable is long enough and the box can be placed outside the coop within easy reach. The anti-pinch system can be easily enabled or disabled using the control box and it works. It is a good coop door albeit with limited features and will need a lot of manual intervention to use. I will definitely put it to good use on one of my coops. ... show more

  • Looks great but might have a weakness.
I really like this door. The automated feature is simple and just works. No fussing with timers and settings. Its solar powered which is so much better than the other systems. The door looks great and aesthetically its very nice. The metal roller looks to be pretty solid. I would need to apply a lot of force to break though it but here is a possible weak point. If you can wedge your little finger though the bottom sealing point then there is a chance that a raccoon might actually be able to push the roller up. I can apply some force and roll the door back up. If you know how strong a raccoon is or a little weasel then you'll know that with determination they will get through. Im a bit concerned about that so thats my minus star. This will be going on a doorway into a secure run. If the animal can get into my run then they might have a chance. I think overall its a good idea but could use a slightly stronger motor to keep the door down tight. One solution will be to place a little lip across the bottom where its weak and not allow any kind of fingers to get into the possible crack. That will be what I will do. ... show more

  • Was confusing at first but now I love it
Was hard to set up in the beginning but now that it’s up and working we have not had any issues and my chickens get let out every morning without me having to wake up super early.

  • Easy to install, easy to use...mostly
It comes with an install template which is awesome, but I was retrofitting it to an existing opening, so it didn't help me. That said, it was easy to install and set up. I'm not too happy with the function, however. It may have to do with our siting (next to some tall trees) but it closed before it was actually dark out, trapping our chickens outside. ONe time it was most likely because the panel mounting had become loose and it tilted down, the other times, it was still facing the sky, (trees) but not particularly dark and it had closed prematurely. Because I can't trust it, I unplugged it and open and close it manually when I need to. I wish there was an easy way to adjust the light sensitivity, if there were I would think this was great! It could be a little bigger, but it works for now. ... show more

  • Works well, easy to install
We decided on auto chicken coop doors to help keep our chickens safe and cozy in their coops at night. This door was fairly easy to install and set up as I did it myself and I’m not mechanically inclined. It did startle the chickens at first but they quickly got used to it.
