  • Do you want to be a leader on your field? Read this book!
Nowadays the competition is worldwide and the rules are not the same. In the book Authority Marketing, Adam Witty and Rusty Shelton break it down for us and they give us the tools to cope with an overwhelming task: to succeed in a changing world. I think they did a remarkable job revealing the current dynamics in the world of marketing in this title. Definitely, is an essential book for all those entrepreneurs with or without a strong “authority” in their fields. The vast experience of these two titans results in this incredibly informative book, which they give us in a clear and concise way, to teach us even the smallest detail about how to play a game no one else knows is being played. First, the authors invite us to think about our current authority with a brand audit -a part that I enjoyed so much- and how to raise it over time without leaving anything to chance. Then, they guide us step-by-step, helping us to build our personal authority and after that, boost our brand authority. For me the only difficult thing was to put it down because is so easy and fast to read. Each part of it is eloquently written with many practical examples of how through authority can be build success and happiness. Therefore, I recommend it and I gave it 5 stars. Authority Marketing: How to Leverage 7 Pillars of Thought Leadership to Make Competition Irrelevant is a valuable book that helped me to determine my weaknesses and strengthen my strengths. An awesome must read! ... show more

  • Clear, concise and useful
Authority Marketing: How to Leverage 7 Pillars of Thought Leadership to Make Competition Irrelevant is a book by Adam Witty and Rusty Shelton. Both of them are very well known speakers and their work talks for themselves. It is not a surprise that they deliver a very well-written and well-thought book, one that follows a clear line and purpose, making it very easy to read and understand. The basics of being recognized as an “authority” in any field are pretty much summed up in this book, with guidelines, assessments and even instructions on how to audit your brand. It’s a remarkable work, particularly designed for anyone in Marketing or PR but of use to anyone who is in the search of a good book on how to develop and affirm themselves in an industry. ... show more

  • Great marketing help
If you’re currently dealing with some downtime due to self-isolation and you want to learn how to get your business out there, whether you’ve established it or not, then this is a great book to pick up. It won’t take you a long time to get through it, but there are so many insightful things that will help you come out of the economic lull flying. The authors write in a way that is helpful instead of being condescending, which makes it a lot easier to follow the advice. The marketing tips are something just about anyone can follow through with too, which is incredibly important when it comes down to it. You will certainly want to go over the book a few times though and take notes, because the advice is something you’ll want to work with slowly until you get comfortable with it. ... show more

  • Adam Witty and Rusty Shelton create a great piece of work here
Adam Witty and Rusty Shelton create a great piece of work here, especially if you work in the marketing sector. Authority Marketing: How to Leverage 7 Pillars of Thought Leadership to Make Competition Irrelevant is one of the most thorough marketing guides that I've read. It has so many real-world examples that you know that they really have experience. There is a lot that I can use here, and some stuff that I cannot use but I can adapt. In fact, I think many different sectors will have something to garner from this book. If you are looking to be successful in 2018 and you want anecdotal proof that this marketing plan works, all you have to do is look in the pages of this book. The authors have spent a lot of time in proofing and editing this book - but even more importantly, you can tell that they've spent a lot of time LIVING this life, which is the most important thing to me. ... show more

  • Quite compelling
The title, Authority Marketing: How to Leverage 7 Pillars of Thought Leadership to Make Competition Irrelevant, makes some pretty big promises, and I was curious to see if the book could deliver. After reading the summary I wasn't sure what to think, my initial reaction to it was that it was long and it was demanding, but based on the reviews I went ahead and purchased the book. Plus, I liked that Steve Forbes wrote the forward. I had thought the book would be as aggressive as the description and as in your face, but the truth is the book has a softer, more easily read tone. It is far from mild, the two authors, Adam Witty and Rusty Shelton, are straightforward, which I appreciate. The book does not dwell on irrelevant personal stories, nor does it take off on tangents. It is very organized and easy to follow. The language used in the book isn't saturated in industry lingo and instead is written for all levels, whether you're new to the business world or a veteran CEO. The book for lack of a better term is inspiring and makes the reader feel like they want to start implementing these new habits ASAP. ... show more

  • Too Basic for the Professional Marketer
As a professional marketer that is currently working on building a thought leadership program, I picked up this book hoping to be provided with advanced insight into the topic. Currently there is little research in this space and I was excited to delve into a text devoted to the topic. What I was presented with is a basic playbook for developing oneself into a thought leader. If you are brand new to the topic this book can provide the basics, but if you are a seasoned professional...my advice is to skip this one. ... show more
