Features

  • Upgrade of AL319Autel ML519 is a plug-and-play handheld OBD2 car check engine scanner. Upgraded from AL319, instead of just reading and clearing codes, ML519 can perform all OBDII functions (mode 1~10), and provide quick DTC lookup and live data in text & graph. It retrieves generic(P0, P2, P3, and U0), manufacturer specific(P1, P3, and U1) codes and pending codes, vehicle VIN, turn off CEL, check I/M readiness status for ready test, locate bad parts like a O2 sensor, do evap leak test, etc.
  • Full OBD2 FunctionsGenerally only the scanners in auto parts stores are equipped with full OBD2 diagnosis, as they can handle more complex OBD2 issues. But this little guy has those too! ML519 car scanner integrates all OBD2 functions (10 modes), including: read code, clear code, view live data, freeze frame data, vehicle info, check I/M readiness status, O2 monitor test, on-board monitor test, EVAP leak test, modules present. Anyone who has cars knows its well worth the price!
  • Read/Clear Codes & DTC LookupKnowing the accurate codes in advance if you don't want to be ripped off. You can use ML519 scanner to read the codes to quickly locate the problem areas, then determine if you can do the repair yourself or go to a mechanic, and clear the codes to get everything back to normal. When read out the DTCs, you can click the button to display what the codes mean, and DTC Lookup functions work as a DTC library to search meanings for DTCs, no need to google or guess it.
  • Turn Off CEL & Smog CheckThe Check Engine Light is always annoying you, most of the time because of a little thing like a loose gas cap, isn't it? With ML519 scan tool, you can read codes to quickly find out why the check engine light is on and reset it. Dont waste money on a failed smog test! ML519 can retrieve I/M Readiness status to make sure OBD2 monitors on your car are Ready, monitors like misfire, fuel, catalyst, O2 sensors, EVAP, etc, to help you pass the annual smog check.
  • Live Data GraphingData graphing makes everything easy, so you won't miss any suspicious data changes! Auto diagnostic scanner ML519 can view live data of multiple sensors and components in text and graph to quickly pinpoint bad parts or faults, for example, viewing the change of the 02 sensors in the graph mode enable you to locate bad sensors in a few minutes. Also you can use ML519 scanner to record the data for later review and print it out via PC to share it with customers or mechanics.
  • Retrieve Freeze Frame Data & Vehicle InfoThe more specific the information available, the clearer the problem. The OBD2 scanner ML519 can retrieve freeze frame data, including important engine parameters like RPM, fuel pressure, fuel trim, engine coolant temperature, etc. Also it can retrieve Vehicle Information such as VIN number, Calibration ID(s), Calibration Verification Nos. (CVNs), etc, which is useful to check whether the ECU matches when you are buying a used car.
  • User-Friendly Design, Easy to UseUnlike AL319 with 3 keys, ML519 car scan tool has more keys to make it operate like an easy remote control, no worry to press the wrong key and cause EXIT issues. The user interface is really slick and easy to read on the color screen. Equipped with the patented I/M key, it takes you straight to the I/M readiness status page and tells you immediately if your car is Ready for a smog test.

  • For the price it provides a lot

I'm learning more and more about OBD scanners. You get what you pay for. As price increases, there are more and more features. Previously I could not look at live data, but this device allowed me to do that. It is annoying that it doesn't remember custom sets of parameters, requiring you to reselect them each time you run live mode. I'm also annoyed that I haven't been able to get it to connect to a PC or Mac, but I'm sure that with some work I can get beyond that. I've used it over and over, mostly looking at live data, but also reading codes and doing I/M readiness checks. It takes a while to run through protocols before it connects, I wish it were faster. I've learned that clearing codes doesn't always work because some codes do not clear until the problem is fixed. However, other codes could be cleared but are not; I have to use the BMW INPA software to clear them, I think it has to do with codes that normally clear only after a drive cycle unless you have a device that can clear them anyway. I was not able to reset my BMW battery (register it or tell the BMW what type of new battery I got). This is an example of features that, the more you pay, the more you get. With my current knowledge, I'd probably go for a more expensive device that could do the battery operations. But this beat out the FIXD device I have by a long shot. INPA can do far more but is a nightmare to install. I also like the feel and durability of this device. I wish it had more BMW-specific features. ... show more

  • Gave me code other readers didn’t pick up
Color: Red
I have a 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5i sedan. I had repeatedly been getting a P0420 code for an emissions output below threshold. I put fuel system cleaner and catalytic converter cleaner into the gas tank (separate occasions) as well as changing spark plugs and wires to attempt to fix the code. My code kept coming back. I had some extra money so I upgraded to this OBD-II reader and the code I got upon use correlated to my heated o2 sensor. Now when I take my vehicle in for service I can have my mechanic check and fix/replace that sensor and avoid hefty engine light diagnosis fees. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to pay extra (unclear exactly how) in order to utilize the full list of tests available. ... show more

  • A Good Tool to have
Color: Red
The Scanner was easy to use and the instructions were complete. It does not hurt to view some online videos concerning this OBD scanner either. I bought a used car with extremely low miles in great condition and want to keep good care of it. The engine is super clean, the body in like new condition and the maintenance was done mostly by Toyota dealership throughout it's history. It had small problems that were correctly quickly and the maintenance was unkept on a regular basis. I flushed and replaced the coolant and the transmission, change the oil and filter, replaced the tires and want to keep it in top working order. But the mission is not to get taken by a dealership when the car is put into maintenance or service. So, this unit is easy to use and can even give live graphic data to the condition of the components being monitored. It also can give you ideas of the problems that could be affecting the engine components and what could be the possible problem in layman terms. It also has a lot of different vehicle types to choose from when inquiring about information on the trouble codes that get generated. When using this device I found the most likely component causing a hard start condition is most likely the MAF sensor. Now i have given myself an option and that is to get a can of MAF sensor cleaner and nothing but and remove the unit and spray clean it myself and see if that resolves the problem. Of course following all the recommended directions in doing so. And if that does not change the condition again I have the option to change out the sensor myself. The spray cleaner is not very much and the part cost about seventy to eighty dollars. The dealership would cost you at least four times that amount. The reason I came to believe the MAF sensor was having problems was because of the live data stream i could watch on this device and understanding that there needed to be a constant change in values and there was not when I was watching live stream data on this scanner. A great tool in my opinion for the novice such as me. It works and is very handy when needed. Another word though, I do not plan to sound off when i go to the dealer with this information and try to sound like a big mechanic or anything, it is again only a tool to help determine the problems with a car having trouble and you can make the choice once a service manager come tot tell you that you have this problem and this problem and this problem and you need this and that. The only thing mostly holding up dealership is their maintenance departments and what they can charge a customer for service and parts. The mark up is insane, but the bottom line you really want a maintenance group that is familiar with your vehicle and has the parts and personnel that is qualified to do the service, hence forth a dealership that sold you the vehicle, preferably a dealership that deals in those makes and models. Again i am just a novice with this device and am still learning, but it is at this point a great product to have, it does what it says it will do and nothing less. ... show more

I've run through all the mechanics in my town and have lost faith in them all. All have done good work but each has done something that has left me wondering whether I've paid to repair something that wasn't needed. I bought this when my last check engine light came on to arm myself with more info before going in, and I am very glad I did. Plugged it in and it quickly diagnosed a problem with the turbo. Because my car has a PVEZ warranty, many components, including the turbo, are covered for 15 years or 150,000 miles. Went into the dealer and told them the code, said it should be covered under the PVEZ warranty and that if they came to a different conclusion they should call me before starting work. Worked. $3,000 turbo replacement for free with no pushback. Car is running great and I am convinced it would not have gone so smoothly if I didn't come in knowing what was up. Highly recommend this code reader! ... show more
