I bought this after two of Amazon’s Choice broke. One after a year of light use, the second after two weeks of an hour’s daily use, but not too many sheets at a time. So far, it has worked smoothly. It has casters and wheels, a plus. It also has a red light to warn it needs to stop and cool. Better than my last one, instead of taking off the entire motor/blades head and setting it down to empty the basket, the basket can be pulled out separately. Much easier. My city’s recycling service will not take any material in opaque plastic bags. Garbage bags and retail store bags are nearly always opaque. I save every clear unventilated plastic bag I come across. Most of them are very large, as they were used to ship large items. Be sure your bags have no ventilation holes! This shredder makes very small pieces of paper that can end up all over everything. Don’t ask me how I know. Anyway, I’m about 50% through my project of organizing files. I’m only shredding things that should be. Things with account numbers, social security, medical, financial, that aren’t necessary to keep. (I’m going with 7 years.) I’m super irritated with medical insurance that sends me a minimum of seven 8 ½ x 11” sheets for each visit. Such a waste of resources. Anyway, this machine is about right for this job, and it hasn’t jammed once in two weeks of daily use. ... show more

Love this little machine. Have boxes and boxes of biz and tax documents too sensitive to throw in trash dating back to the 90s (ahhh!) stacking up and this last move (ow my back) had had enough and got this little shredder. It is eating those papers up and making my life so much simpler and less cluttered (less boxes to store and haul yay!). It's unobtrusive and nice to look at and just parks somewhere inconspicuous while not in use and blends in. It has wheels (the best!) so I don't have to lug it from spot to spot or find a surface to park it on. I'm not really testing it on thick stacks of paper to see if it goes all the way up to its specs, I'm just handing it small stacks and it works well and chops up small staples easily and goes through laminate in the little dvd slot easily. It's also not very loud. Was considering cheaper shredders but this project is long overdue with so much paper to work through I went for the slightly more expensive shredder that can handle multiple sheets, laminate, dvds, staples, and has wheels — and I'm so glad I did.
