I wanted to get my motorcycle gear up from a corner in the closet to a statement piece in the garage area. This product was perfect for what I was trying to do. The overall assembly was really easy following the instructions and using the included tools. Mounting was also straight forward however it requires going into solid wood to meet the weight rating of the device. You could use sturdy drywall anchors if you don't plan on hanging anything heavy. The actual quality of the product is good at a casual glance. The wood and black painted metal are a great modern contemporary design will fit in most houses. The finish quality of the wood and welds are subpar at close inspection, I had to take some sand paper to all the rough cut edges to remove the tear out and not much to do about the weld quality. Its not the most expensive product but I expected better. The ad claims it can support 22lbs on the helmet stand but my 6lb Carbon shelled Shoei already causes some deflection. The Jacket/suit hanger is much sturdier and it should be able to handle my leather race suit as well as my daily mesh gear. ... show more

I really liked the idea of this helmet and jacket holder. I had planned to put this in a shallow closet that was basically unused space. When this came in, it was in many pieces and had to be put together. The build was not difficult, but a little time consuming. Once I put it together, I realized that it was going to be sticking out very far from the wall. Much farther than I needed. To solve this issue. I removed the wooden mounting plate on the back of the rack and mounted the metal directly to the wall. There are four holes in the bracket and the bracket is approximately an inch and a half wide. Using a stud finder, I mounted this directly over a stud and was able to put four wood screws through the bracket and into the stud behind making a very secure connection. Even with the removal of the mounting block, I still had plenty of room to hang my jacket and helmet. The metal bracket is not super heavy duty, and the welds aren't all that great. However, it is holding up just fine and as long as you don't overload the bracket I believe this will hold up without issue. ... show more

Love the weight this thing can take. The advertised weight is certainly understated. The collapsing arms is also very nice and allows apparel from multiple sizes to be used on one small compact design. The screws are very nice and didnt strip while installing.

A bit more work than most you can get right out of the box but has a very nice clean "modern" and simple look to it. It's covered by my gear anyhow, so appearance isn't too big of a deal. for the price, as long as you are handy enough to assemble it this will be a great option for you.
