I add some to hot water, mix and let it stand a few minutes. Then I add chia seed oil and cold pressed coconut oil. Put it in a little jar and put it in the fridge. When I use it to fry potatoes or what- not I sprinkle some in the pan add some olive oil and it becomes really creamy -Perfect! The only downside is they have been raising the prices!! Okay I ran across this new word which explains how they most likely powder the butter it is ( Lyophilization ) which is the process of freeze drying a product and then removing the water from it so the thing with the taste dry that is it has a touch of freezer taste not as much when you reconstitute it and for it to be a meltable butter crisco makes butter flavored lard mix them together probably about 1 to 3 lard to powder I do not have ready access to go to the store for fresh things so this is a good option I now live rural not by choice ... show more

Love this sprinkled on popcorn. I use it in baking as well and add it dry with a little extra oil or milk to make the batter the right consistency. This is a great alternative to fresh butter - shelf stable and tastes great.

No. No it isn’t. But, i still love it. First a made it like thick spreadable butter. I tasted it. Not at all like butter, yet it smells very similar. It’s overpowering and a tiny bit offensive as a spread. (And not on anything) Next I made a thinner “Sauce-like” mixture. I poured it over vegetables. Oh yeah. A buttery sauce that is quite pleasant. So, If you want eating butter, this wont do that. But if you want a buttery SHTF condiment, this is great. I liken it to ketchup… do you eat plain ketchup from a spoon? No, you pour it on stuff.
