Description

Solid 0.5% Silver Conductors Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications like HDMI audio and video. These signals being such a high frequency travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality HDMI cables. Hard-Cell Foam Insulation Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) Insulation ensures critical signal-pair geometry. Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Hard-Cell Foam Insulation is similar to the Foamed-PE used in our more affordable Bridges Falls cables and is nitrogen- injected to create air pockets. Because nitrogen (like air) does not absorb energy and therefore does not release any energy from or into the conductor distortion is reduced. In addition the stiffness of the material allows the cable's conductors to maintain a stable relationship along the cable's full length producing a stable impedance character and further minimizing distortion. Ethernet and Audio Return Channel Enabled High Speed Data Capacity HDMI standards and capabilities have improved significantly since DVI first evolved into HDMI. All generations are backward compatible. However not all previous HDMI cables can transmit the full 18Gbps of data required to optimize todays HDMI 2.0 equipment. While there is currently no 4K/60 4:4:4 software requiring the full 18Gbps capability of HDMI some sources (UHD Blu-ray players) can be set to up-sample requiring 18Gbps capability. Up-sampling often should be done in the TV rather than in a previous component but thats your decision

  • Picture started flickering and eventually it got worse to the point I can't even watch TV anymore
I bought this on December 4, 2016 and on January 2, 2018 it failed. Picture started flickering and eventually it got worse to the point I can't even watch TV anymore. Turns out these cables have only one year warranty... am I bitter? sure. Do I wish they would stand behind their product when we pay a premium for a premium product? Of course ... show more

  • One cable lowered DAC noise floor from my NAS.
This was a reasonably priced 'digital' connection upgrade for my home NAS to receiver. I had a problem with the noise level being VERY notable when the stereo volume was turned up in silence with a stock HDMI cable. A simple swap of the cable to a short AQ HDMI and that problem was eliminated. I can go to max volume and I hear zero noise now when there had been a continuous hum. I am seriously amazed - I think this is related to the cable's shielding and overall build quality. Recommended cheap upgrade for digital enthusiasts. ... show more

  • Quality makes a difference
I am definitely NOT one of those people that thinks you should pay more for the cables than the actual components. That being said I just found out that you do need some level of quality. I had purchased a couple of Mediabridge HDMI cables, one to connect my Cable box to my pioneer Video/Audio Receiver and another one for my desktop computer. Connecting the Blu Ray player to the Receiver and the Receiver to the TV, I used the more expensive AudioQuest cables. Everything seemed fine, until I bought a Blu Ray Burner for my computer. Not that I planned on watching blu ray movies on my desktop when I have a 55" 3d LED tv in the next room, I still wanted to see how it would look on my 23" HP LED screen. Well it didn't work. The Blu Ray player software that came with my internal drive told me my equipment(The HP 2310m LED) wasn't compatible with the Copy protection on the blu ray disk.(HDCP I think they call it). So I tried downloading a couple full versions(30 day trials) of more robust players to no avail. After a couple hours of wasted time trying to get it to work, I gave up. The next day I thought maybe it's a problem with the cable, even thought the MediaBridge is supposed to work(it works on my home theater set up). So I gave it a shot and the whole thing worked fine with the AudioQuest cable. I was able to switch back to the MediaBridge and it would only work intermittently. I noticed the screen seemed a little brighter and sharper with the AudioQuest cable as opposed to the MediaBridge, but bottomline I decided to order two more of these AudioQuest cables. For the extra $15 or $20 in price(I realize that about doubles the cost of the media bridge versions) but the bottomline is it's worth it. Don't risk compatibility or performance issues over that amount of money when you consider what you paid for your set up. What's funny is I noticed several people complaining about the internal blu ray player not being compatible with some disks(over the HDCP issue) which is why I kept trying other software versions, because that's what people thought the issue was, the real issue was always cheap HDMI cables not being able to handle the newer protection requirements on the latest blu ray disks. ... show more

  • Seems to work as advertised
Was wondering why so inexpensive. It was because it was soooo short.

  • A definite step up from the thrown-in cables
There's definitely more color separation, especially in dark scenes, over a thrown-in-the-box cable. I compared back to back on both my computer and my Playstation with a cord that came with a monitor. No contest. Helps you get the most out of your equipment.

  • if you're going to pay a lot for an HDMI cable this is a good one
I've been using this cable for 4 years and it's been plugging along (no pun intended) without problems. I buy the Amazon Basics cable these days, but I have nothing bad to say about this cable. No cracking or weakness in the cable and it still works great

  • Good Cable
I don't know if one can actually detect any difference in picture quality or sound using these cables but I like having a better quality cable on my equipment than the standard stuff found in many stores. No complaints with this cable. It does the job.
